The SM went around the building and attempted to regain access to the establishment through the employees entrance. The local authorities were notified and the SM was apprehended. The DA 4833 states that the SM was counseled, and returned to his…
I think that Sam should have stopped the man and talked to him, sometimes that’s all it takes to change a bad situation and prevent future violence. Sam also should have notified not only his boss but also the finance director and supervisor and let them know what he witnessed. Mediation could have helped the situation and changed the outcome drastically. I think that company policies should include but not be limited to notify immediately the supervisors of distraught parties. The company may also invest in a company counselor or mediator who is trained in crisis prevention and can help disgruntled employees. Employee’s my find that having someone to talk to is of great benefit to them and will result in happier employees.…
Martha Vasquez and I began by discussing the reason the police responded to her residence on 3/29/16. Vasquez stated that her husband and she had been involved in a verbal dispute and that she had been drinking alcohol heavily. Vasquez stated that she vaguely recalls the incident, but that she recalls Officer Flores conducting herself in a professional and caring manner during her encounter with her. When I asked her if she recalled the presence of another officer at the scene, she said possibly but that she couldn’t be sure.…

After reviewing a few different articles I have decided on an article from the university library called” Out of the Shadows,” by Dori Meinert. This article talks about 2 different stories that both deal with physical and mental violence. The stories were not actually based in an office setting, but were based in a home setting (Meinert, 2011). Though once the violence in the home setting was bad enough it spilled into the work place and eventually put the other employees in danger.…
Mr. Mapp, assuming Mr. DiDomenico as a generic store security guard, would use the theory of respondeat superior to claim that Gimbels is liable for his injuries sustained. This theory states the employers/principals are responsible for the conduct of their employees, assuming they are acting in the scope of their employment. However, Mr. Mapp’s approach to this theory would not be successful because Mr. DiDomenico is an employee of J.C. Penney’s and not an employee of Gimbels. Gimbels never hired DiDomenico so him acting upon himself to apprehend Mr. Mapp is not part of his scope of employment. The only way Gimbels would be responsible for Mr. Mapp’s injuries would be if DiDomenico were an actual employee for the company and, the attack would then be related to the duties of the employment and the assault would have then occurred within work-related limits of time and place.…

On 10/15/17, approximately at 4:28am, I, Officer Rivera Ayala, responded to 613 Albers Lane in reference to a domestic trouble. Upon arrival, I met with the complainant identified as Virginia D. Matos (DOB 11/03/1982). Virginia stated that when she arrived home, her boyfriend identified as Enrique Cruz Ponce (DOB 07/20/1983) approached her and started arguing with Virginia. Virginia told Enrique that she was going to leave the house because she was tired of Enrique cheating on her. Enrique said that he was going to kill himself and placed a pocket knife around his neck. Virginia stated that she told Enrique to leave and Enrique pulled Virginia by the hair, threw her on the floor, spit in her face and somehow as she was trying to get away, Virginia was cut. Virginia stated that after this, Enrique left the house and she called the Police for help.…

Violence in the workplace is increasingly widespread and it could result in significant cost for both young workers and the institutions (Leck & Galperin 2006). Horizontal violence can occur in any workplace where there is an unequal distribution of power or where a group’s independence is controlled by another group with more intense power and status (DalPezzo & Jett, 2010).…
