The World Health Organization is a coordinating health authority within the United Nations that focuses on a variety of global health issues that affect people. People are a valuable resource to the world today. These issues can be anything from research agendas, setting norms and standards, and assessing health trends (World Health Organization). The World Health Organization is committed to protecting global human populations from preventable death and diseases (World Health Organization). Any member of the United Nations can join the World Health Organization by simply accepting their constitution (World Health Organization). UNEP was established in 1972, and acts as a catalyst, advocate, and educator for the development of the global environment (United Nations Environment Programme).
