World Health Organization Includ The United Nations Environment Pogramme

Exersise 1:
The World Health Organization is a coordinating health authority within the United Nations that focuses on a variety of global health issues that affect people. People are a valuable resource to the world today. These issues can be anything from research agendas, setting norms and standards, and assessing health trends (World Health Organization). The World Health Organization is committed to protecting global human populations from preventable death and diseases (World Health Organization). Any member of the United Nations can join the World Health Organization by simply accepting their constitution (World Health Organization). Countries outside of the United Nations must submit an application to join, and it must be approved by a majority vote of the World Health Assembly (World Health Organization). UNEP was established in 1972, and acts as a catalyst, advocate, and educator for the development of the global environment (United Nations Environment Programme). UNEP works directly with United Nations entities, national governments, and other organizations to better the environment (United Nations Environment Programme). UNEP is able to achieve this by devoting much of its energy to topics such as climate change, disasters and conflicts, ecosystem management, environmental guidance, harmful substances, and resource efficiency (United Nations Environment Programme).
