* In what ways is the Holy Land an important site for all three monotheistic faiths?
For Christians is the city where Jesus was crucified and where he also rose from death. For Muslims is the place where Mohammad ascended to the heavens to meet God. For Jews, King David, named it and it was where Solomon had built the temple, and wailing wall. * The three monotheistic religions are sometimes described as branches of the same family tree. If this is true, how would you describe the trunk of the tree?
The trunk would be Judaism, the original religion of god Abraham. Christianity would branch off 2000 years later, Islam would become a branch seven years later. * How are the three major holy books of the monotheistic faiths both similar and different?
Christianity believes in the holy triune, which God is the father, the son and the Holy Spirit, & they all three believe Abrahamic faiths that god has provided humans with basic guidelines for living. Judaism denies that Jesus was a prophet, but Christianity and Islam believe it he is a prophet. * How are the basic beliefs of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam alike?
They all believe in the same God. They believe there is only one God, ad that he is the source of all exists. They all also believe in Abraham and in the final judgement ad resurrection. * What types of internal differences and divisions exist within each religion?
