Introduction:
World trade organization is an international organization that regulate trade between nations. The purpose behind it is to help procedure of good and services, exports and imports conduct their businesses (What is the WTO?, 2014).
Based in Geneva Switzerland World Trade Organization which was established in 1 January 1995, Created by Uruguay Round negotiations, there are 160 member countries on 26 June 2014. WTO general director Roberto Azevedo illustrate some of the main functions that World Trade Organization do: conduct trade negotiations, solving trade disputes, observing national trade policies (What is the WTO?, 2014).
Specific areas that WTO focus on between trade countries: Non-discrimination, openness by lowering trade barriers, benefiting less developed countries, Protect the environment and others (What we stand for, 2014).
Moreover, WTO assures that customers around the world get secure products, great finishing products, component, raw material and services. Provide substitute choices for local customers through unlocking foreign market to them. WTO goal is to create peaceful and accountable economic world by using multilateral trading system (The WTO in brief, 2014).
Trading without discrimination is part of GATT role as well as measured changes through negotiating, raise fair competition and boosting development and economic improvements. Also one important goal of GATT agreement is to reduce the tendency of national governments on trade barriers like tariffs which is set on physical goods to protect domestic companies, and infant institutions from foreign competition (WTO, 2014).
Uruguay trade agreement was signed by 68 countries they obligate themselves to liberalizing markets in telecommunications. It’s also governing rules on foreign investment encouraging and controlling it (WTO, 2014).
