Olive Schultz Mrs.schroeder English period 7 15 March, 2024 Eating bugs Eating insects is rare in the United States, but maybe one day it will become a staple in the American diet. In the Article by Kristen Lewis, “Would you eat this” and in the informational text, "GROSS! YUCK! That is a great idea! EW!” Interesting facts about bugs and insects are discussed. These texts wonder if bugs and insects could become a part of the American diet one day. To start with, people don't really eat insects, which makes them very uncommon in the United States. in the article, "Would You Eat This?” The author Kristen Lewis claims that the insects are delicious and highly nutritious(22). This shows that insects are good for you and taste good. Moreover, Lewis states, one reason is that from a young age, many of us are …show more content…
In addition, Lewis says that insects are the primary source in different countries (20). This proves that many other countries like insects which plays a key role in making them a staple food. Overall, people in the United States haven't had a good experience with insects, which makes sense, that's why they are not a staple. Equally, it is very common in a lot of other countries to eat insects. both articles, “Would You Eat This” and “GROSS! YUCK! That is a great idea! EW!”, both authored by Kristen Lewis, and the video Edible Insects Explain how incest could become a part of the American diet. Lewis explains, “many insects are gluten free”(25). This implies that people who are gluten-free can also enjoy eating and eating. It is predicted that there will be 9.8 billion people in the world by 2050 (Lewis 25). This implies that we will have to expand and increase our food supply. but if we imply sex into our diet, we wouldn't have to worry as much about increasing our food supply. because insects have way less of an impact on the environment than animals like cows, sheep, and pigs,
