On December 29,1890 many soldiers rallied the Sioux Indians. As the troops were trying to disarm the Sioux warriors they be again to make a scene. Their reason was to arrest the Sioux chief and relocate the whole Sioux indians as a result. This action made a tense scene for over several months. As
a result there began a fight against the Indians to keep their land.
The Sioux Indians were out numbered. Since there were many Indians getting killed the Indians started doing a prayer to their God. Their praying was by doing a dance called the "ghost dance". This ghost dance was incorporated into numerous Native American belief systems. The ghost dance was made by Paiute Indian, named Wovoka. He was believed to come to earth to give hope to Indians and to prepare the Indians for their salvation.
While they did this dance a lot of the soldiers were getting scared. Most of the soldiers thought that the Indians were calling their God to kill the soldier that murdered the Indians. One thing that they didn't know was that dance was meant to try to make peace with the soldiers. All the soldiers didn't think that so as their fear grew of the Indian's dance they started to murder all Indians that did that dance. As a result more than half of the Indians were killed just like their ghost dance.
As a result the Sioux Indians never left. All this massacre ever did was to kill the Sioux Indians. Over 600 sioux Indians were murdered. They died as well as their traditional ghost dance.
