II. GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION AND TOPOGRAPHY:
The geographic location of the municipality is 122 degrees 11’ NE Longitude and 13 degrees 46’ NE Latitude. It is situated on the northern coastal portion of Bondoc Peninsula, 95 kilometres away from Lucena City, the provincial capitol, and 232 kilometres from Metro Manila. Tayabas Bay bounds it on the west and on the North by the municipalities of Pitogo and Gumaca, on the south by the town of General Luna and on the east by the municipality of Lopez.
III. MDRRMC PREPAREDNESS MASTER PLAN:
A. CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM (Pre-disaster Phase)
• Creation of DRRM Office and OPCEN
• Organizational strengthening
• Disaster Training for emergency responders/ volunteers
• Information Education Dissemination (IED)
• Assessment of Disaster Equipment and Resources
B. PREPAREDNESS AND AWARENESS (Short-term action)
• Planning for Disaster Risk Reduction Management/ Incident command system (ICS)
• Community preparedness plans/ programs
• Conduct hazard mapping and assessment
• Conduct drills and exercises (simulation)
• Undertake early warning and communication system
• Organizing Communities
C. MITIGATION AND PREVENTION (LONG TERM ACTION)
• Strict implementation of Land use plan (CLUP) and zoning
• Building Code and Fire Code implementation/ enforcement
• Strict monitoring of hazard zones/ vulnerable barangays
• Install/ construct structural measures (ex. Seawall, drainage)
• Help improve the Socio-economic status on vulnerable communities
