In Wrestler in a circus Ernst shows his subject in a more simple form. The audience are painted in an abstract way, not showing much detail. Although he sucessful portray each figure by using a single color and human shape. Not only humans but objects and surroundings. The walls and the floor are paints with organic paintbrush strokes. Not even caring much about perspective, you can tell where the ground and background are located. Ernst uses these techniques to make a simple
