I had attended a parochial school for the beginning ten years of my education; when it came to high school, both my parents desired to send me to a public school. Wishing to be as well prepared as possible I had everything packed and was already ready way before needing to be. My older sister was a senior at the time and she did have a rough transition into the public school, but she adjusted and was able to create enjoyable high school memories. While we got to school a little early I was able to locate my locker and even recognized someone I knew from my basketball team. Every person I acknowledge helped me feel more comfortable in this unknown place. Surprised by the warning bell everyone started hustling to their first hour. Each class I worked on small talk with others and tried putting myself out there to meet new people. Consequently the day continued on and the infamous lunch hour crept closer. Each table had a minimum amount of seats so each student needed to get there early to mark their territory. My problem was I had no clue where or who I would be sitting with. When I arrived the cafeteria was pretty much an icebox and very chaotic my first goal was the find somewhere to sit. I saw another girl I played basketball with and asked If I could sit at her table the worse anyone could say was no, and in my case thankfully that did not occur. I worked my way through lunch and the rest of the day without any
