One month, that’s how long my parents gave my sisters and me to pack everything that we had, say bye to everyone we loved, and get ready to start a completely new life. Moving here to the United States from Brazil wasn’t an easy thing to do, having to make new friends after knowing the same people since I was a kid was hard, getting used to a new educational system was also challenging, but nothing compares to learning a completely new language and having to do all these things while not being able to communicate, all at the age of 13.
