An individual with the herpes virus has double the risk of getting Alzheimer's than any other person in the future. The herpes virus in particular is known to damage the central nervous system, and the limbic system in the brain. An article stated the following, “Researchers from three different institutions found that when these dormant viruses reactivated, they interacted with cellular membranes containing amyloid precursor proteins, the chemicals that cause the development of Alzheimer’s. “ Herpes is a type of sickness that gives you bumps in your lips, it said to be passed on from another individual. Individuals with the Herpes Virus have a higher risk than a normal elderly to get Alzheimer's. In addition, there are some ways to slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s.
Some ways to slow it down is to encourage the person in your care to participate in activities. Alzheimer's can't really be slowed its just an idea for the person to be happy and to have interactions with other people. Scientists may never find a cure for Alzheimer's, but miracles can happen and they happen unexpectedly. First, Alzheimer's has been occurring for many years now and there still isn't a cure , it can only be “slowed”. Second, experts know the cause of Alzheimer's but they can't do anything about it except have clinical trials to find a cure , all they can do is be cared for . Lastly, Alzheimer's is a condition that comes from the brain , which causes them to forget about their life and family members. The only way for a person to remember everything that happened during their entire life is to be reminded everyday of all the amazing things they did throughout their life. Finally, hopefully in the near future people will be saved from this awful disease that’s been taking so many lives away from loved
ones. Alzheimer's is caused by brain cell death. It is a neurodegenerative disease, which means there is progressive brain cell death that happens over a course of time. Many people don't deserve the things that life throws at them, but I guess it's part of life and we either get through it or we don't. I can relate to this topic for so many reasons because my dad suffered a disease similar to Alzheimer's. I never met my dad, it wasn’t his choice, he just couldn't sign the papers for my brother and I to go visit him at El Salvador. My brother and I were waiting anxiously until we turned 18 so we could visit our dad. The sickness took over his life, and he passed away, it was a heart breaking news because no one truly understands how much I wanted to meet my dad and hug him, one day I’ll see him in heaven.
