Writing an Informal Letter
7, Lavender Height, 45700 Sunway, 20th June 2012

Dear Mia,

My school celebrated Teacher’s Day last week. Activities on that day started at 9.00 a.m. First, we had an assembly in the school hall.

The school principal gave a speech. He reminded the students to study hard and to develop good qualities. This is our way of showing our appreciation to our teachers for their hard work. At the end of the speech, we clapped loudly to show our appreciation to our teachers.

Then, the Head Prefect read out the Teacher’s Day massage. This was followed by parties for our class. At the parties, we ate, sang, danced and played games.

After 12 noon, the telematches were played. That was the most exciting event of the day. Teachers and students played various interesting games. The students won most of the games. By then, we were all tired and happy. It certainly had been a very enjoyable day.

How about your school? Tell me how your school celebrated Teacher’s Day in your next letter. Take care and bye.

Your friend, Mia

Well, I have participated by helping the students when they were doing the activities to become familiar with them.…
