“Drawing” An Essay Communication is one of the most challenging skills for me. When learning this new challenging skill, I am asked to initially overcome fears against the odds, which slowly appear surmountable with the passage of time. For me the ability of communication is like building a tower, then writing skill is a part of the tower and I call it “wall brick”. In order for this tower to stand the bricks must be strong. Though flourished rhetoric in writing can enhance a paper in some aspects, I believe that a logical structure is the key to quality composition. Wring, in any language, was never appreciated by me. Thus I just had some inferior bricks at first. I kept those low-grade materials and tumbledown “tower” for a long time until I transferred to another high school where I met my wonderful teachers. I used to hate writing, but when I entered my new high school the way I write has been totally impacted and was deeply branded. As I mentioned that I hated writing a few years ago, since I did not consider that writing is an interesting thing. Since I learned English all the compositions that I wrote in school time were the simple “description” of the information that I had been given, which implied that I could only rephrase others’ ideas. And what was worse, that terrible situation did not change till I went to the international high school in Shanghai (CIC).
The first class in CIC was an English class in which every student needed to write an essay to expect our new study life. When I saw the topic I suddenly bewildered because I did not know how to start. “Where is the information? What is the form of it, an announcement or note diary?” those were the only questions that occurred to me. For nearly 10 minutes, I had just stayed on my chair. My first English in CIC called Alexandra came to me and asked me why I did not start to write. “I do not know how to write this one, my teacher didn’t tell me before.” I told her. Then she looking
