Training

Will be rolled out in stages- to allow for tweeking as needed
Is mandatory.
EPIC provides training maps for different types of staff—this will determine training needs.
On-line tutorials must be completed prior to in-class sessions.
Our goal is a 9 month timeline for end-user training completion.
What will be included in the training ?
Credentialed Trainers—-Will become EPIC experts in all departments.
Super Users—-Will become Unit Specific experts. All Others—-Will have a Comfortable
Functioning knowledge.
WHO WILL TRAIN THE STAFF?
Credentialed Trainers >>>EPIC support staff Super Users>>> Credentialed Trainers
Physicians and Nurses>>> Super Users
Departmental Technicians (ie radiology, pharmacy, admitting, etc.)>>> Super
Users
When and how frequently will training sessions take place?
Training will be individualized and require different time frames depending on user status.
Physicians will be trained in groups and times determined by their physician Superuser.
Other users will have training determined by level of use.
Credentialed Trainers
Will be taken from unit staff numbers for 3 months of
8hr/day, 5 days per week training at EPIC facility.
They will assist EPIC in department specific builds while learning. Will learn all of EPIC functionality and be able to assist anyone with questions.
Will have 24 hr access to EPIC staff for any reason.
Will then spend 3 months giving on-site classes to Super
Users
Will spend 3 months teaching 4 hour training sessions to all other staff.
Super Users
Will have three 4 hour training sessions taught by
Credentialed Trainers on site.
Will have access to a mock charting system to
