War can be a tragedy because many people die. The war lasted more than four years.Many thought when it started in the summer it would last until christmas. During world war 1 millions of soldiers and civilians died.There was tension between countries and there was tension between people living in the same country. One can trace the major causes of World War 1 to imperialism, alliances and militarism. Although, Imperialism was one of the most important causes of WW1.
Because countries such as Britain was colonizing Africa, India and other countries, other countries such as Germany wanted the power brought on by imperialism and also wanted colonies. It was a competition for colonies, for example the information
