Despite the fact that the firearms fell quiet after the Armistice of Compiegne in November of 1918, the effect of the war continues to be felt to this day, at no other time has innovation been put to such destructive ends.
The United States rose up out of World War I as the world superpower. In view of U.S. intervention and President Woodrow Wilson's diplomatic administration, America had now turned into the "savior of Europe." World War I gave the U.S a major confidence boost.
