Xanax
I chose the topic Xanax because my Mother takes it and I've wanted to learn more about it and what it can do to the human body. The drug Xanax can either be very helpful or very deadly, depending on how you use it. If you take the registered amount your doctor has prescribed you should be fine, but if you take more then needed it could cause some very deadly actions and/or emotions. Xanax has three names, the generic name is Alprazolam. The brand names are Niravam, Xanax XR and of course just Xanax (www.drugs.com/Xanax.html). No matter what the name they all do the same thing to your body. What do these drugs do you may ask? Well for starters they are used in a number of ways. One main reason these drugs are used is for anxiety. Anxiety is related to being stressed, almost everyone has experienced this at some point. Could you imagine living with severe anxiety everyday of your life? I know that I definitely couldn’t. Another reason they are used is for women with PMS (Premenstrual syndrome). All of the things this drug is used for has been related to something with anxiety. Xanax’s (Alprazolam) chemical formula is 8-Chloro-1-methyl-6-phenyl-4H-s-triazolo [4,3-α] [1,4] benzodiazepine (www.rxlist.com/Xanax-Xr-drug.htm). Xanax is a white powder, it is soluble in methanol and ethanol. Each Xanax tablet for oral administration comes in four prescribed doses; 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 2. Do not crush, chew or break Xanax unless directed to do so by a doctor (www.drugs.com/Xanax.html). There are many side affects and warning factors you should know about before asking your doctor or someone else about this drug. Some of the side effects include depressed mood or thought, confusion, agitation, hostility, hallucinations, you may pass out, if you are urinating less then usual or not all all, chest pain, a fluttering feeling in your chest, uncontrolled muscle movements, jaundice, seizure, etc. This drug
