Xtra One Food Industry Analysis
Logistics is one of the main functions within a company as it can help any effort utilize the supply chain more efficiently by cutting costs when appropriate and by avoiding waste of time and materials. Thus, in Xtra One Food Industry, logistic activities are transportation and warehousing.
1.1 Transportation
Transportation involves the physical movement or flow of goods where the goods will be transported between different places. The transportation is a physical link that connects customers, raw material suppliers, plants warehouses and channel members. Xtra One Food Industry owned their own transportation, where the owner has two types of truck which is normal truck and co-truck. Normal trucks for dry food such as salted egg while co-trucks for frozen foods such as burger patty and bread dough. The industry owned 13 normal trucks which transport the food products to various states. Xtra One Food Industry practicing logistic transportations since they started this food business.
Xtra One Food Industry transports their products to all the state in Peninsular Malaysia and currently to other country which is Pattani, Thailand. The customers are mainly, well known suppliers of the partners from their previous work experience. Both partners has few years working experience and well known about many suppliers and has good relationship with them. Thus, they could expand their network throughout the Peninsular Malaysia easily with their past relationship and networking. The suppliers are believable and help each other to speed up the transportation
