Year-round school would be beneficial because it helps eliminate the loss of academic information. Twelve-month school would help in “Eliminating any sort of long break from school can improve a child’s academic achievement” (Kimberly). Over summer children tend to forget what they have learned. If children do not have a long break they are more likely to not forget the majority of the things they learned. This is not only beneficial to the student, but it is beneficial to the teacher because not as much review time is needed. Year-round school would be beneficial because it would be more cost effective. “Advocates claim a year-round calendar allows school facilities to be used most
effectively because they are not sitting empty for months at a time during summer break” (Pearson). Also, all-year school could financially be beneficial to families. Families can benefit from this because it may help families reduce the costs of things such as childcare. They can also benefit from taking vacations during off-season times when their children are on break. Year-round school would be effective because there are more frequent breaks. Frequent breaks help the students to be more engaged in their education. Students and teachers get very tired. These constant breaks can be helpful to the pupils and teachers because it allows them to energize and recharge. The short vacations would allow the students to more affectively learn and stay focused on their schoolwork. Year-round school would be beneficial because it would help in eliminating the loss of information learned, would be more cost effective, and because children would have frequent breaks.
