Yeti Crabs Adaptations

Surviving in the deep, dark waters… How do they do it? The underwater sea creatures have their own ways of adapting to the harsh environment but they make it despite the circumstances. Between Squids, Zombie Worms, Yeti Crabs and Jellyfish, they all have their own unique skills to adapt. Giant Squids are located near the ocean floor. Their diet consist of mostly fish and other squids making it extremely efficient to get their source of food. The squids main predictor though is the sperm whales. The squids have the advantage of the long tentacles that are tipped with hundreds of powerful toothed suckers which is essential for them to hunt for food. The Giant Squids live for less than five years only because of the growth rings in their statoliths. Zombie worms live in the continental shelves and island slopes. They have no mouth, gut, and have a wormlike shape. Their source of food is the stored nutrients in whale bones. The
Their unique body type which includes a hairy chest and legs, grows bacteria which they eat off of themselves. This new creature is thriving with up to 600 yetis living on each square meter. The yeti crabs diet helps them to adapt and survive without the need to hunt for other food. The winged lizards are mottled brown, scaly with an eight inch long tail. They use their wings to fly long distances and it helps them find food while gliding from tree to tree in the rain forest. When on the floor, the lizards eat small insects and leaves. They are able to adapt to their environment because of the wings on the bodies. Animals are able to adapt because of their own body and it helps them blend in with their own environment.
