The variables of Yoga Group & the Yoga-Music Group were compared based on the Pre-data & found to be matched at the baseline. Except SBP of the Yoga Group all other variables were normally distributed.
The results show that the Yoga Group’s Pulse Rate has significantly decreased from 77.33±7.75 to 70.44±6.06 (<0.001).
In the Yoga-Music Group, the PR has significantly decreased from 75.33±5.83 to 66.44±5.81. The SBP has significantly decreased from 133.33±9.85 to 126.89±10.54. The DBP has significantly decreased from 87.78±9.87 to 83.33±10.
The between group results have showed that the difference between the PR, SBP & DBP of the Yoga Group and the Yoga-Music Group were not significant, the p-values being 0.17, 0.50 & 0.69 respectively.
The results of the Power Analysis showed that in the Yoga Group the …show more content…
Pulse beat, Perspiration, Blood pressure comes to normal state.
Under stress the SNS takes over. And one of the physiological reactions of SNS activation is constrictions of the blood vessels, that leads to Hypertension.
The Top Bottom Mechanism Model of Music Therapy:-
The factors that contribute to the SNS Activation & Blood vessels constriction are Stress- anger, fear & other negative emotions (Stress Model). Äyurvedä says that Hypertension is caused by Pitta imbalance in the body levels & anger is the psychological manifestations of Pitta imbalance (Nagrajan, Srinivasan, & Nagendra, 2014). The SNS activation is controlled by the Limbic System which also processes emotion. The processing of music also takes place in Limbic System.
According to the Sämänya viçeña siddhänta - the similar factors or rasas leads to Augmentation of a rasa. And the dissimilar factors or rasa reduces it. (Loon, 1981). Calmness or çänta rasa is the opposite rasa for Anger. The rägä which induces çänta rasa have been used in the study to reduce Anger and pitta which in turn can reduce Blood Pressure.
