In this song he is presenting himself as the man in the relationship that is doing the wrong. He’s trying to tell us women that there is someone out in the world that is willing to give us so much more than the small things that we are settling for. He plays both sides good and bad.
In “You Deserve” August Alsina tells the typical story of the things that women go through in their relationship on the daily bases. He goes into depth and describe how strong women are and how much they are willing to sacrifice while being in a horrible relationship. He tells her that even though he is not a part of the relationship he still knows that she deserves better. He is stuck in between trying to figure out if he should convince her to stay or leave. He is just trying to open up every man in the world eyes because he doesn’t want them to lose their special lady. No matter what men put women through they will stick it out through thick and thin until she’s finally fed up and over the whole situation. A women can only take so much before she call it quits. Women deserve a lot more than they are getting from men. August is just one of the few gentlemen who realize it. This song can make more men realize that they can do better and treat their women better than they already do. This should be an eye opener for the men out in the world who do not understand that their women is what they really need and everything is not what’s the most important

"You Lie" is a sturdy, acoustic number that confidently and aggressively addresses an unfaithful man. The attitude is at the strongest when she suggests killing him and doing the whole world a service. Now, that's harsh. What makes the song work even better is the high attention to detail: she doesn't just fling his ring off a bridge, she explicitly tells how she drives to the middle of a mile-long bridge, then flings the ring off and says that it'll stay there until the Second Coming.…

The author's word choice helps to depict a clear picture of how the relationships makes him feel. The audience is taken back to their past relationships that have ended poorly due to “too many hours of unneeded duress” (Baer 980). A picture is being painted where the audience can see a couple struggling to make their relationship last. Anyone who has experienced any type of struggle knows exactly what the author is feeling. The author is finally realizing that sometimes love isn’t enough to keep a relationship going. The hassle of loving someone who doesn’t put in the same effort is depleting and sooner or later the person won’t be able to go on. The author speaks about not feeling important and being walked over by his partner by stating “pay-wise, I’m undervalued and disenchanted” (Baer 980). The author is no longer happy being used and needs to part ways for his own well being. Personally I know this feeling all too well. One of my friends is selfish and thinks of only her well being instead of others. Years of friendship mean nothing at this point because to her I’m nothing more than a walking partner to talk to when no one else is around. The author uses the analogy of a job in his relationship and that is exactly how I feel. My friendship with her has become a job and is no longer worth the stress. Even though I have great memories and still like her as a person…

In 1974, Dolly Parton released “I Will Always Love You” in a response to her breakup with Porter Wagoner. Her song was a hit in the early seventies, but Whitney Houston brought out the best in the simple lyrics. Whitney Houston had one of best voices in the music industry and she was known for adding her own flavor to classic songs. Although Whitney Houston was not the original writer of “I Will Always Love You,” many people thought that this song was her original song. Nevertheless, The Body Guard would have been incomplete without the famous love ballet.…
