For Women, they have always been obsessed to achieve this perfect image of a figure that men wanted them to be. In North America, such images are heightened and fueled by the media, and by critics. In magazines, pictures of models and actresses dressing in all too little clothes posing in very revealing positions, the message is very clear to the young female generation of the world. Many times, when you ask a men what his perfect wife would be, you would get an answer much like this, small thin thigh, slim and tall body, big breast, blond hair and a beautiful face. Such answers are all too common in today's world. People want to look and act beautiful because they want to have the attention. Looks alone can get you through many hard curves of life, and because of this reason, many teenager girls will starve themselves to fit into this looks, and the fact is that they are doing this for someone who may never even talk to them. To the majority of people in North America, you can't be considered beautiful unless you have good physical appearances. Beautiful physical image is a subjective.
Beauty also can be defined as a person's character. To me, beauty isn't a thing, or even a person, but a feeling that comes from your soul. Such is the way when you get that warm and giggling feeling inside of you, that's beauty. Beauty is what makes your day go around, making you believe that everything is all right in the world, makes you smile every time when you see, hear or even sense it. It is what relaxes you after a hot day. Beauty in a person is not just external appearance, but also interior strength. Many times, I heard the phrase "beauty is only skin deep", now that I am actually doing an essay about it. That phrase begins to make sense to me. People judge others first by appearances, but ultimately, it is what inside of you that really count. Shakespeare's "my mistress's eyes are nothing like the sun" is a good example. His mistress is not defined as a beautiful woman physically, but is such a beautiful woman to him because of the soul matching between them. Another example can be the follow. A woman is neither physically appearing nor morally pleasing, but the other party finds they have lots in common just like a soul mate. In the person's eye, this ugly woman means beautiful.
However, through out the world, the ideas of beauty vary. I agree with the proverb "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Different people have different taste when it comes to the idea of beauty. In America, beauty is defined in appearances; beautiful people have beautiful face. In ancient China, small feet are what make a woman desirable and in ancient Japan, the raw passion of samurai is beauty. In parts of Africa, women mutilate their face by wear big rings around their mouth and ears. To me, I would think they are ugly but in the eyes of African men, they are like goddesses, exotic beings. Which further prove my point of beauty varies with different people; just take a look around this world which we all share.
Everyone in the world has their own meaning, their own opinion of what beauty should be. What is beautiful depends on who the beholder is. To truly find beauty is not easy in a world where cosmetic and plastic surgeries are on the rise. Beauty is everywhere; women don't have to become the small thin long images they have been obsessed to achieve, because you are already beautiful in someone's eyes. "One man's trash is another man's treasure".

The common physical beauty is what Elaine Scarry called “a symmetry of everyone’s relation to one another” in her book called On Beauty and Being Just (1999). This means that beautiful subjects or objects are evenly proportioned and ideal in all their forms. In other words, if symmetry is perfection, then beauty is perfection too. At the same time, as absolute symmetry does not exist- beauty is a divine feature of “chosen”. Meanwhile, I have my own interpretation of physical beauty. This is the idea of beauty that is not just a physical appearance of a person or object. This is the universal “beauty” I was talking about in the introduction of the paper. In my opinion, physical beauty that relates to the beauty of objects or subjects…

In the age of the dixie south, an overwhelming portion of the nation did not have access to education. There is no set definition of beauty. Beauty is very broad and opinionated. What one may define as beautiful may vary. What some observers find beautiful may not be beautiful to others. Beauty can be found anywhere, at any time and any place. From the Jim Germaux’s exhibition in the Roper Gallery the painting Parallel Play was the most striking work of art. Not only is this work eye catching, but it so abstract it requires you to just stop and examine the artwork.…

Just like a woman's body nourishes her children, beauty nourishes the soul. C.S. Lewis said it this way, "We do not want merely to see beauty, though, God knows, even that is bounty enough. We want something else which can hardly be put into words-to be United with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive into ourselves." (The Weight Of Glory)11 Beauty comforts. Beauty brings healing, that’s why we send flowers or other beautiful things to the doleful. It brings comfort. Beauty inspires. Have you ever wondered about what it would be like to be in the presence of a woman like mother Teresa? Her life was filled with beauty, she's inspired so many to live better lives. Lastly, beauty is transcendent. Beauty puts a longing into us for an Eden we have not known. Beauty says, There is a glory calling to you. 12 If there is a glory, then there must be something or someone who created that glory. So, beauty draws us to God, the glory maker.…

If one was to ask Socrates the question of what is considered beautiful, Socrates would answer that everything can contain beauty, but one must recognize the beauty in something for it to be labeled as beautiful. This answer is the safest one he can provide, for he feels that this principle will never be overthrown. Socrates’s believes that “by beauty beautiful thing become…

Inspirational people epitomize beauty because they always have something beautiful to give us. It is something that is tangible so that we are able to reciprocate it back to someone else. We are left with something that is valuable, worth holding onto, remembering, and sharing. I find the singer Elle Varner to epitomize beauty because she is an inspiration through her music. She evokes beauty through her songwriting and displays that what’s on the outside cannot be compared to what’s on the inside. Light is another thing that epitomizes true beauty, because it is in light where flaws are found. You are able to see the things that hide in the dark. It is there where you are forced to see yourself as you are and learn to accept all of you. The light shows how beautiful something really is after you misjudged it from afar. It shines and brings light to everything worth being seen. Life is an epitome of beauty, because there are so many great things that come from it, like nature, birth, and marriage. These three things each bring something new into the world that contributes to its…
