Your Pocket Day

I had a lot of fun participating in Poem in Your Pocket Day. The poem that chose was “Afternoon on a Hill” by Edna St. Vincent Millay. I chose this poem because it brought back memories of camping trips. I’ve loved the outdoors ever since I was in first or second grade, so I felt a bit of nostalgia while reading it. I read this poem to Mrs. Hampton, Dr. Sumida, Lily, Leah, Mr. St. Lewis, and my sister, Ella. Mrs. Hampton and Dr. Sumida both said that my poem was beautiful. Lily had a similar reaction to me, for it brought back memories for her as well. Leah liked the poem, but told me that hers was better. My sister didn’t seem to care at all. She just stared at me with a slightly annoyed look, then continued to watch a YouTube video once
