Youth and Its Power for India
“Youth itself is a talent — a perishable talent.” is truly said by Eric Hoffer.

India, now aged at 65 is in my view one of the largest reservoir of Youth population.Generally defined in the age group of 16-30 years constitute of more than 40% of India’s population which is indeed a large force. We are energetic, enthusiastic and always full of zeal to do the impossible.

If we exclude the youth, the rest of the population of India will comprises of old people and children. They cannot be called the real manpower of the nation. So it is evident that if the youth of the country are not enthused to devote their energies to the task of national reconstruction, the whole Youth Power for India is wasted,or the other way why we youth should wait for someone to enthuse us to show the Youth Power of India. This is our land, our country and it totally depends on us(Indian Youths) how we take our country forward.

But having such a massive youth population in India will not do any good if our youth population is not shown the right path. Most of the youth in India are generally without any direction,If we can harness this powerhouse of the nation in the right direction then the country can reach untold heights.Being said that we should not completely depend on our Government to harness this powerhouse, contribution of all sides is required for this.

The best and the first and foremost way to strengthen our youth are to provide them Education.Education plays a vital role for this,we should be able to educate all our youth from the initial stages of their life,We should be able to make them understand the importance of Education. Not just any kind of Education, but the right kind of Education which makes them scientific, logical, open-minded, self-respecting, responsible, honest and patriotic. Without these virtues being developed, our youth cannot walk in the desired way and they will stay in a deep slumber of complacency.

Even education to some extent will not help as

Transformation refers to a complete change. It signifies the essence of growth and progress. The true wealth of a nation lies not in its foreign exchange reserves and riches, but in its citizens, especially its youth. Youth have the power to transform and hence, on their strong shoulders, rests the responsibility of leading the nation towards progress and prosperity. Youth form the backbone of any society and in this context we are extremely fortunate to have a vibrant youth potential numerically unmatched in the world. India, in the past, has had its glories, but much greater glories await this great nation in the future( Ramakrishna Mission, 2008). It is here, that our youth will have an all-important and distinguished role to play. Transformation of our youth would be the key to this projected image of our country. Any transformation that we seek, would inadvertently have to begin from ourselves (Abdul Kalam, 2004). Our raw youth potential is in need of maturation, without losing the essence and elixir of youth and this can be achieved by motivation to undergo transformational exercises, resulting in growth and awakening, which would lead to transformation in the desired direction. Since from my childhood everything I am listening about India is mainly only one thing i.e. “INDIA IS DEVELOPING COUNTRY” not only in this century this phrase was running all over through the world’s mouth from past 50 years that India is still a developing country .The main reason for our country’s slow development is CORRUPTION .Even OVER POPULATION is one of the main reason our nation is facing .As India is also referred as a sub-continent, so we have many states and so many POLITICIANS most of them are very less educated and money minded .our nation deserves great leaders with intellectual brains like ABDUL KALAM AZAD,ANA HAZARE,MANMOHAN SINGH ,etc. Even most of the youth was not involving in politics which is also one of the challenge faced by India. Most of the youth should take active part in Indian politics, who are capable of changing the face of the nation. Even poverty also plays a crucial role in India’s future. Harassments on girls/ladies was increasing widely which is a big SHAME…

Youths are young blood for society. They are so powerful and leaders of society. With their leadership they can move society from bottom to top. They can unite with other parts of society and make good organizations in society. With personal and informal discussion in society, they can make good plans for development of society. Young people possess energy, but it should be channelized in the right direction. Misguided youth may do greater harm to the society than even the worst enemy can do. Moreover, it is on the shoulders of the young that the future of the country rests because they represent new values, new thinking and the new ways of life . All societies pay special attention to the youth. A society should direct itself according to the thinking of the young because it is difficult for the older generation to have new thinking. The young should always look with hope and confidence to the future. They must have the spirit to work among the masses and also give a sense of direction for the others to follow.…
