. Many youth run away and become homeless because of problems in their home such as physical, mental or sexual abuse. Depending on the situation some youth are asked to leave their home because the family is unable to provide for their specific mental health or disability needs or they are forced out of their homes because their parents cannot afford to care for them. In some cases mental health issues of a family member or substance abuse from a family member or parental neglect, can also be the cause of youth homelessness.Some youth become homeless when their families fall into difficult Financial situations resulting from the lack of affordable housing, difficulty getting a job or maintaining a job if they have one . As a result the
family has become homeless But later the family can find themselves separated or living on the streets alone often do the shelter or child welfare policies. Youth can also become homeless when they transition from foster care and other public systems. First off what is foster care? Foster care is when a child is not taken care of by their biological parents because their biological parents need help before they can care for their child again. The ideal plan is usually to reunite the young person with their family. Unfortunately, even after receiving counseling and support, some parents are still unable to provide their children with proper care.so these youth can remain in foster care till they are 18 and depending on the foster parents some are asked to leave and some are adopted by their foster parents . It has been proven youth that start off homeless will usually stay homeless for a longer period of time because they often have little or no income support and limited housing options.
