Youth Pastor Interview

For this interview paper I interviewed Emanuel DeHerrera, he has been my youth pastor since I started in youth during sixth grade. He has worked in the church since age seventeen in 2001. He did two years at a Bible training center after he finished college with a bachelor in fine arts. As soon as he finished college the youth pastor position became available, so he took the job in 2006. Emanuel felt as if he was called to be an artist and a preacher. So he took the opportunity to spread the word and teach younger people to help spread the word. He lets these kids into his life all the time. He is always letting the youth have lock-ins at the church and always having letting them just come and hang out at the church. Emanuel has a huge passion for the youth, being a youth pastor he said consumes his life. He spends so much time making sure
We are to live what we believe and through our lives teach others.” Emanuel tries to teach these kids to go out and bring back their friends and teach them the word and show them the way. He teaches them to be a reflection of Christ no matter where they are. Emanuel really tries to do that. He tries to be a reflection of Christ at his work place or in the church. When talking about what all you need to do in order to work in this field, he said you need faith and a willing heart to work wherever needed in the church. I have also been working in the church from age twelve, and I completely agree with having to work wherever in the church. I went from working in children’s church, running the sound system at age eleven, to helping run the Jungle Gym room, ages three to five. I didn’t really want to work in the jungle gym but they really needed it, so I agreed to. Taking that position was probably the best thing for me. That’s what gave me a passion for
