Sprint Center: Zac Brown Band Concert

I attended the Zac Brown Band concert at the Sprint Center located in Kansas City, Missouri. The event was on February 15 @ 7:00 p.m. I will discuss and go into further detail about my own personal experience related to the organization and structure of the event. I will also include information about security, the location of the event, parking for guests, vending, seating, lighting, heating, and overall entertainment of the event. First, arriving at the Sprint Center and finding parking was no easy task. Unless you are familiar with the downtown area you are lost upon arrival trying to figure out where you can or can’t park. After circling the block a few times I found three different parking lots/garages available for the event. One was three blocks from the event costing $5, another 2 blocks from the event costing $10, and the last was one block away costing $15 to park. Overall, I would give the parking for the event a seven out of ten. There could have

There were no problems there. Everyone seemed to flow at a steady pace into the arena. After entering the arena, I found my seat pretty easily. There were ushers to help assist anyone at every section of the arena. From my point of view, it looked as if the ushers were not familiar with the seating arrangements of the arena. There were times that people needed to be assisted and I would see them searching up and down trying to find where the exact seat was located. Part of their trouble might have come from the lighting of the arena. At 7:00 the first band came out onto stage and the lights were turned off inside the arena leaving very little light for the ushers to see the number on the side of each row. They each had small little flash lights to help aid them but the light was no brighter than a flashlight app on your cell

    3. Describe the concert venue and where you sat (i.e.: balcony): I took my twelve-year-old stepdaughter with me and we stood out side for about five minutes waiting in line to purchase tickets. Upon entering Pope Joy Hall, we were greeted by an information booth that was filled with flyers and pamphlets and programs to all different venues of art, from orchestras to plays. Lindsey asked me wide eyed; do all these things mean that this is what is showing or playing here? I looked at her and smiled and replied, yes this is Pope Joy Hall, UNM Center for the Arts and they have a variety of things going on all the time. We grabbed some information on what we would like to come and see and headed to the first theater on the left. We walked up to the entrance doors to the theater and were greeted by two very friendly greeters, who handed us our programs. Then, we entered the double doors and were greeted by an eager usher who politely guided us through hand and arm gestures to go down the left isle. Therefore, Lindsey and I sat together in the lower level on the left side middle end row seats. Once seated, I realized…

All of the parking lots near the arena were packed with cars, bumper to bumper. People were running against the brutally frozen air from blocks away to get inside of the warm arena and take their seats. Flooded with people trying to get their snacks before the game, the paths to finding an open seat grew increasingly smaller. Vendors yelled to advertise their merchandise, enticing the people who were crowding the arena. The smell of buttery popcorn filled the air, along with the smell of smoke from the grills. Vendors ran frantically, selling everything that they had and struggling to create more product. The seats began to fill with green, white and red as people represented the Minnesota team on their home…

He was right about how crowded it would be. When we go there people were walking in the street and cars were moving so slowly. I was only eight and not very tall, so it was hard to see over the people who crowded the street. Finally we got to the entrance, and then we went to our seats after we handed in our tickets.…

Parking for team buses at this meet will be in the visitors’ parking lot at the northeast corner of the stadium. The only access to this lot will be via the Manzano Mile which is approximately ¼ mile east of Mustang Drive. As you drive up Manzano Mile you will pass by the baseball and softball fields and then turn left into the parking lot. Enter the stadium through the visitors’ entrance to the stadium. Since this is a school day you will not be able to get to the stadium via Mustang Drive. If you drive up Mustang Drive at this time of day you could get caught in end of school day traffic and be stuck for quite awhile.…

I attended The Works of Thomas Root on Tuesday, March 24th. It featured the Weber State University wind ensemble and symphonic band as well as the WSU Band Alumni. There were many pieces conducted and created by Thomas Root. Most pieces were still unpublished but they were wonderful nonetheless. He also had pieces that were dedicated to people that he had come to meet throughout his life, and a piece was dedicated to his own mother.…

I went to Mr. O’Neal’s second jazz concert today, which took place at a little bit far but very nice jazz studio in San Pedro. There was a beautiful neighborhood nearby, and it was the first time I’ve ever been to San Pedro. I was kind of tired since I went there right after I got off from work, but I still be excited and couldn’t wait for the wonderful music. My friends and I had a seat before the concern really started, it was a warm and sweet little room. Then I looked at the little stage in front where Mr. O’Neal’s going to perform later, it was just fit to everything. I like the design of the stage: they had colorful lighting on five separate pieces pure white background , a new classic piano, a bright blue jazz drum which I like the best, and a set of red African drum, they really made me look forward to the show. My friend also ordered the pizza the Mr. O’Neal recommended, and we were ready to enjoy the concert!…

As I walk in, an hour early, the stench of old wet plaster immediately offends my nostrils as I notice all the good seats are taken. I'm afraid that I am going to get stuck in the back where I can't see a thing and the stage and everything on it are going to be blurry. I notice the light hum generated by the audience and I'm already getting a headache. I sit down and slowly sink into the small seat provided by the school. Why isn't the money that my parents share every year to the school system through taxes and fund raisers put to good use to buy decent sized seats for normal people? And whoever thought of covering seats with grain bag material, anyway? It feels almost as good as a pair of favorite woolen underwear on a hot day, poking at my skin. What were they thinking? The annoying whisper of excitement and impatience is getting louder and my headache is gaining force.…
