The sweeping rhetoric and universal language the President used in his address was not an accurate representation of the objectives and goals of the new foreign policy, however. Many feared the policy was too ambiguous and reaching. The address gave the impression that the US would intervene on behalf of any and every country facing communist threat, that it would be the United States’ responsibility to defend free people everywhere. This overall impression left many with intense reservations regarding the policy. Even Kennan quietly argued it was best to be forgotten, and Marshall sought to add limits to the objectives. Stefanie Grau is a perfect example of a versatile, spirited student. Stefanie takes pride in her grade’s unity and actively takes part in over eight clubs and teams and has been the president of her class since her junior year. Stefanie’s teachers describe her as positive, bubbly, and always having a nice thing to say to everyone. They also thank Stefanie for always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the time or place. To find Stefanie you do not have to look too far, go to any Pine Crest event and she will be there, either cheering our team on or participating (and winning) herself. Stefanie prides herself on her bond with her teachers and would like to thank Dr. Wu, her calculus teacher, for truly creating her love of math and Señora…
She spent her primary school years in the UPR’s Elementary School, which she considers to be a place close to her heart, since it’s where she was taught by some of her favorite teachers and developed her talents and…
As a sophomore Sydney took photography and earned her certificate to be a lifeguard. Sydney was able to gain employment at a local pool for the summer as a lifeguard. Sydney used her earnings that summer to purchase herself a laptop, a cell phone and a Nikon camera, lenses and accessories. Sydney took more photography classes in her junior year and has developed an impressive port folio of work. Some of her photos grace the walls of Strath Haven HS. Photography has allowed our Sydney to view her world through an artist’s eye; she was recognized by her photo instructor with an award for photography last year.…

Gwen Noah’s experience through college was different than that of her children because attending college was not as pertinent as it is today; one did not have to finish college to pursue a career, but now it seems as though it is a requirement to acquire a career in itself. Noah explained that it was easier to earn employment in the mid-1900s, during her time period. As years progressed, it became eminent to her that even her daughters(being a generation apart), had to receive more education to better qualify themselves and become better representatives of the career they wished to pursue. She emphasizes that in today’s modern society it is better to even go as far as…
We are very fortunate to have an alternative campus in our school district. Shannon High School is for students that have fallen behind in their credits, have dropped out of school and have decided to return to school, or feel like they do not fit in at one of our main traditional campuses. Shannon classes are small, and students have the opportunity to be successful and earn their high school diploma. Tammy Wright is one of the wonderful teachers at Shannon High School. Ms. Wright is a business and marketing teacher at Shannon as well as a school aged parent coordinator on campus. Furthermore, Ms. Wright serves as an advisor to the student organization, DECA. It was a pleasure to sit down with Ms. Wright and ask her a few questions about her…
Before I had some interest in becoming a leader, but I did not really have the drive and confidence to carry out a leadership position. However, during my junior year of high school, I was selected to attend a leadership camp, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). There was a specific keynote speaker at RYLA and his motivational speech gave me the motivation and determination to become a leader and make great changes. His statement still sticks to me today; I live life by this statement, “Success is in the struggle.” Now, I have taken on many leadership positions and have inspired others to become a leader. I inspire others by leading by example, and encouraging them to take a step outside of their comfort zone. I also inspire by building…
I feel confident to say that i am on the path to a greater future. My role at Jordan High School is to be a student and to work well with others.Hopefully I would join a club next year so it could look good on a college application.I am pretty sure that I have not failed a class in the past and hopefully that will continue in the future.A bad habit of mine is losing focus easily. It is hard to regain my focus but it is possible…
I’m looking back on today’s work I did with some young pupils I work with, they are a little group called ‘ Super Stars’, they are called the super stars because they aren’t as up to speed with the other children in class but they have a lot of potential to work with.…
Lastly, let’s talk about Stephanie Braden from Austin HS, let’s start with how she organizes her year. She organizes her year easy for football and contest season, her football season is short and she usually finishes contest either the end of February first weekend in March. She holds tryouts in March to start practicing with her new team as they do a dance in Spring Show to make their debut to the high school. One thing that I don’t agree with her on is the date party that they hold. I don’t really agree with this because a lot can go wrong with this like alcohol and would be much easier to save money and hold a nice banquet. Lastly, one thing that really resonated with me was that this job is a job of sacrifice and dealing with all types…

The child I chose to observe during the course of the semester name is Adrianna, she is in third grade in class 3-221. She is a female and eight years old. She is currently attending the school P.S.225, which is located on 1075 Oceanview Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11235. I chose Adrianna because I felt I could relate to her positive energy. Adrianna seems to be a troublemaker and that is what caught my eye at Adrianna is bursting with energy and I honestly thought she was super cute! I thought she was very smart, always eager to answer any questions the teacher asks. The entire class is filled with cute little third graders who are all smart and capable of doing…
