Introduction
Islam is a religion that has existed for over fourteen centuries, in many different countries. As such, diverse political movements in many different contexts have used the banner of Islam to lend legitimacy to their causes.
Islam has had a significant impact on world history, not only as a major religion that has directed the personal beliefs and actions of individuals, but also as the basis of a distinct system of government that has developed its own institutions, practices and philosophies.

One is political philosophy, advanced by philosophers who offered an exposition of politics under the subject of practical philosophy, which was considered to have been theoretical, short-lived, (for example, al-Farabi, d. 950, is considered as its last and greatest representative), and quite marginal. Another category is siyasa, which is secular government, which was elaborated by belles lettres and secretaries and included manuals of statecraft, mirrors of princes, and ethics. The received wisdom dismisses these two traditions as marginal or/and inauthentic.
