The Zodiac Killer
Since the late 1960’s the identity of the zodiac killer has been a mystery. The closest thing the investigators have to the killer’s identity is a drawing. Some people say it was Arthur Leigh Allen. There was even a rumor that it was Ted Cruz. But that rumor is obviously false due to the first zodiac attack happening before Cruz was born. The zodiac killer taunted the police with quotes and many other letters wrote in symbols along with a quote: “I like killing people because it is so much fun. It is more fun than killing wild game in the forest because man is the most dangerous animal of them all” – zodiac killer
The Zodiac claimed he had murdered 37 people, but the investigators have only confirmed 7. The Zodiac did his

Ted Bundy was a serial killer who had confessed to more than 30 killings but many people believe that the number was actually closer to 100 (Biography.com, 2013). For the most part, Ted Bundy had a somewhat normal besides a few bumps in the road. Theodore Robert Cowell more commonly known as Ted Bundy was born on November 24th, 1946 to Eleanor Louise Cowell (The Predator, n.d.). Because Ted was born out of wedlock, his mother had her parents act like they were Ted’s biological parents. Eleanor Cowell then acted as if she were Ted’s sister. However, there are speculations that Ted was conceived out of an incestuous relationship between Eleanor and her father (The Predator, n.d.). These speculations have never been proven though. When Ted was about four years old, his “sister”, Eleanor and him moved to Washington State where Eleanor married Johnnie Bundy. Ted Bundy had a fairly close relationship to his grandfather/”father” even though the grandfather suffered from some anger issues. However, there were not any forms of abuse ever reported (The Predator, n.d.). As a teenager, Bundy began spying on women in his neighborhood as well as…

The prison door is important to the Puritan social order, whose unbendable certainty condemns and confines Hester. Like the door (oak is among the heaviest and most grounded of woods), the Puritans are fearless in their moral quality and along these lines, unsympathetic in their judgements. The iron spikes reinforce this delineation, drawing in thought with respect to the gathering's merciless judgements and reformatory character. The usage of oak in the line emphasizes the centrality of the prison and its importance in their world.…

For example, he had a watch with the same symbol on it that the Zodiac Killer used. Investigators discovered he had similar codes to those of the serial killer (“Zodiac Killer”). In addition, a typewriter, which was the type of machine used to compose the letters sent to multiple newspapers, was found in his home when he was arrested for a disturbance. He was fascinated with the idea of hunting people, showing he had characteristics of a serial killer, according to psychologists. Allen had also been fired from many jobs for inappropriate behaviors, and missed work around the time of the murders, specifically the Bates murder ("The Allen-Zodiac Connection"). According to family members, his behaviors had changed drastically around the same time. This is a known characteristic of a serial killer. Therefore, due to Allen’s behaviors, it is evident he was the Zodiac…

Lucas Kelleher/ Street Law 10/3/08 The Zodiac Killer The Zodiac Killer is a serial killer who operated in Northern California in the late 1960s. His identity to this day still remains unknown. The Zodiac coined his name in a series of taunting letters he sent to the press. His letters included four cryptograms (or ciphers), three of which have yet to be solved. The Zodiac murdered five known victims in Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969. Four men and three women between the ages of 16 and 29 were targeted. Others have also been suspected to be Zodiac victims, but they have been ruled inconclusive. The lack of consensus about the number of victims, the inability of law enforcement to crack the ciphers, and the fact that several people have inconclusively been portrayed as "persons of interest" or possible suspects, has elicited this case's designation as a perfect crime. On August 1, 1969, three letters prepared by Zodiac were received at the Vallejo Times-Herald, the San Francisco Chronicle, and the San Francisco Examiner. The nearly identical letters took credit for the shootings at Lake Herman Road and Blue Rock Springs. Each letter also included one-third of a 408-symbol cryptogram which the killer claimed contained his identity. Zodiac demanded they be printed on each paper's front page or he would "cruse [sic] around all weekend killing lone people in the night then move on to kill again, until I end up with a dozen people over the weekend." The Chronicle published its third of the cryptogram on page four of the next day's edition. An article printed alongside the code quoted Vallejo Police Chief Jack E. Stiltz as saying "We're not satisfied that the letter was written by the murderer" and requested the writer send a second letter with more facts to prove his identity. The threatened murders did not happen, and all three parts were eventually published. On October 14, 1969, the Chronicle received yet…
