INTRODUCTION

Every year at PSS normally starts off with a mad scramble by learners for places at our school. It becomes quite cumbersome to explain to parents and learners who are refused admission at the school as to the reasons behind this. One has to tread very carefully to avoid acting unlawfully in this respect always bearing in mind your adherence to:
i) The South African Schools Act (1996). ii) The Admission Policy for Ordinary Public schools (1998).
The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa (Act

References: i) The South African Schools Act (1996). ii) The Admission Policy for Ordinary Public schools (1998). The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa (Act 108 of 1996) underpins the above and other relevant legislation that form the basis in the compilation of any admission policy.

There are millions of reasons that a person has their choice on a school. School is one of the most important decisions that a person will make in life. We are privileged as kids in what we call ‘being forced to go’. A person wants as much from a school as a school wants from them; including things such as the facilities environment and teachers as well. A person needs to feel secure and welcomed when they come to a school or they won’t want to come to school. However my reasons for coming to this school were met and matched without my even knowing they would.…

In our view sustainable economic development in education from 2009-2013 was only made possible by the treasury in allocating a budget for supporting and spearheading the process.
