A Computer Virus Is a Computer Program That Can Copy Itself
A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself[1] and infect a computer. The term "virus" is also commonly but erroneously used to refer to other types of malware, adware, and spyware programs that do not have the reproductive ability. A true virus can only spread from one computer to another (in some form of executable code) when its host is taken to the target computer; for instance because a user sent it over a network or the Internet, or carried it on a removable medium such as a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB drive. Viruses can increase their chances of spreading to other computers by infecting files on a network file system or a file system that is accessed by another computer.[2][3]
The term "computer virus" is sometimes used as a catch-all phrase to include all types of malware, adware, and spyware programs that do not have the reproductive ability. Malware includes computer viruses, worms, trojans, most rootkits, spyware, dishonest adware, crimeware, and other malicious and unwanted software, including true viruses. Viruses are sometimes confused with computer worms and Trojan horses, which are technically different. A worm can exploit security vulnerabilities to spread itself to other computers without needing to be transferred as part of a host, and a Trojan horse is a program that appears harmless but has a hidden agenda. Worms and Trojans, like viruses, may cause harm to either a computer system's hosted data, functional performance, or networking throughput, when they are executed. Some viruses and other malware have symptoms noticeable to the computer user, but many are surreptitious or go unnoticed.

Infection strategies

In order to replicate itself, a virus must be permitted to execute code and write to memory. For this reason, many viruses attach themselves to executable files that may be part of legitimate programs. If a user attempts to launch an infected program, the virus' code may be executed simultaneously. Viruses can be divided

Email attachments are a way for a sender to transmit files to another user via email. A drive-by download is when a malicious web site you visit downloads and installs software without your knowledge. There are several types of worms, viruses, Trojan horses and spyware, which can be delivered in a variety of ways. Computer viruses are a type of software or executable file that attaches itself to other programs to be uses. Viruses can cause system failures, rewrite hard drives, or destroy files and programs. Worms are similar to viruses, but are independent programs, rather that attaching to others. Viruses have a tendency to spread more rapidly over networks and through e-mail. Trojan horses are based off their namesake, in which they appear to benign types of programs, but when executed can introduce malware into your system. Spyware is programing that can track computer use. Forms of…

A computer virus attaches itself to a program or file enabling it to spread from one computer to another, leaving infections as it travels. Like a human virus, a computer virus can range in severity: some may cause only mildly annoying effects while others can damage your hardware, software or files. Almost all viruses are attached to an executable file, which means the virus may exist on your computer but it actually cannot infect your computer unless you run or open the malicious program. It is important to note that a virus cannot be spread without a human action, (such as running an infected program) to keep it going.…

Guantanamo Bay is a prison area near Cuba and is controlled by the American Navy. After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in the US, the US forces picked up about 600 people from various parts of the world and imprisoned them in the Guantanamo Bay prison on charges of aiding or involvement in this terrorist attack. In most cases, the governments of the countries to which these prisoners belonged were neither informed or was permission taken. It was done in such secrecy that even the families of these people learnt of this incident only through media reports. These prisoners were interrogated and if the US forces could draw connections between them and the terrorist attack, they were kept imprisoned in this high-security prison. There were no trials before any US magistrate, and no one from the media or the UN were permitted to meet them. There were no legal rights given to these prisoners in any country. The UN supported a probe by Amnesty International which discovered serious human rights violation in the Guantanamo Bay prison. The US directives to prisoners and prisons were not followed. The living conditions of prisoners were deplorable. They were not treated as prisoners of war and many prisoners even went on hunger strike demanding better conditions. Prisoners who were found not guilty were not released from Guantanamo Bay were not released. The US received much international criticism due to this and is now gradually phasing out Guantanamo Bay prison.…
