Take a deep breath and picture this. You’re standing in the middle of a desert landscape. The sun is beating down on your back, and the only sound is that of a gentle breeze blowing from the North keeping you cool. The wind has a fascinating mineral smell that seems to calm the vast surroundings. You begin to look around at the scenery made from a strange red clay and dotted with small green bushes. The red soil rises into hills and far off in the distance there are elegant snow-capped mountains. As you are enjoying the peaceful view you see something from the corner of your eye. It’s a Mojave Desert Tortoise moseying along at his slow pace. In this small paradise, time seems to stand still. It brings a unique sense…
The next day I woke to the sunlight beaming through the shades and the sound of my alarm clock. I got up made my way to the car and sat down faster than a cheetah. I arrived at Disney World and was greeted by roller coasters, bumper cars, and all kinds of rides. But only one coaster stood out with the mass, it was the biggest the tallest and the…
I remember getting up in the morning, starting breakfast and turning on the TV just as I had on many other normal mornings. I was having Raison Bran for breakfast and looking for something interesting on TV to watch. All the stations were covering the same thing. The date, 09/11/2001. Things would never be normal again.…
I had begun to walk around this new environment. As I walked further down the walkway the sounds that surrounded me began to get louder. It even got to the point where I couldnt even hear myself think. I had decided to turn on the next corner to see if I could find out what the entire racket was about and as soon as I did it was like I had entered this whole different world. There was so much going on. There was this huge round thing in the middle and these things just came in and out of it. They looked almost if though they were having a race to get to finish line before they ran out of energy. They really had got my heart pumping.…
When I woke up, it was already dark. I was a bit astonished, I thought that I had slept only for about half an hour. The sky was so dark that I wondered if it was probably past midnight. I tried to find the path back home but it was as if I had lost my sense of direction, and I was unable to tell where my home was. I remained a few moments sitting on the ground and suddenly, I saw the little wild animal again. Then others came, there were about thirty now, all were looking at me. Something caught my attention, one of them was different from the others, it was taller and bigger and its fur was not blue, but green. In a blink of an eye, they all disappeared.…
It all started when I saw a horse race on the TV. I was lying on the ground with my dogs. My mom was cooking steak and potatoes for dinner and my dad was sleeping in his bed. My sisters were playing on their phone and tablet. The horses were wearing colorful gear and the riders were matching with the colored helmets and riding outfits. There was a Palomino in yellow, a Bay in green and a Bay in blue, a Paint in orange, and a Black in grey. I could see the jockeys petting and reassuring the beautiful giants. When the gates opened and the horses took off I watched so intensely it were if I was about to pass out. When the horses took off I could hear their breathing slowly getting faster and harder and the crowds cheering louder and louder. I could hear their hooves thumping and the breeze of the wind whisking pass them as they flew over the jumps. I could hear them as they brushed the tops of the bushes as they leaped and splashes in the water as they landed. They were moving so fast they were no more than a blur in a tornado. When the horses finally slowed down and came to a…
The pain that ran though my body and heart was indescribable, loneliness, emptiness having the thought in my mind of never seeing my great uncle again made me ache. His passing was very unfortunate. No amount of hugs and kisses could make up for this loss of life. Having him being an inspiration to me, I now feel like I am lost. I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for him.…
As the day progressed, I could feel my stomach trying to inform me that I was hungry. I immediately glanced at my map and located the nearest restaurant. I notified my parents about having lunch and they agreed. As I entered the restaurant, I could smell the chicken, steaming on the counter, calling me to eat it. After I had paid for my meal and found a seat for me and my family, I devoured my chicken relentlessly, giving it a painful but satisfying death. A thousand years later, my parents were finally done with their lunch and were yelling for me to come ride a rollercoaster. As I got closer to the roller coaster, I examined the roller coaster carefully. I noticed the upside down loops and the drop. Just thinking about this sent shivers down my neck. My body started to stiffen and I could barely walk. As I tried to overcome my fears, my legs started to cramp and thinking about the height of the roller coaster afflicted my brain. I then noticed that my little brother was going on the roller coaster! If he could do it, I must be able to do it too. I decided to try and experience the roller coaster, whatever the…
i will never forget the day I peed on myself. I had "show and tell," that friday. i wus really shy and scared of public speaking. I did not have to present until after lunch. Lunch time came and i was feeling really dehydrated after running in P.E., so i decided to drink my apple juice and ask four other kids for theirs too. by the time my food and great conversations with my classmates was over, i completely forgot about my presentation. when we made it to the classroom, my friend Jack had to present before me. towards the ending of jack's presentation my nerves kicked into super gare. my heart racing, sweaty palms, weak knees and to top it all off i had to suddenly use the restroom. jack finished presnting his amazing car collections and everyone applauded him, epecially all the girls. Now it was my turn to take the stand and present my pet lizard, spotty. the teacher called my name; as i stood up and froze for a minute, out of no where laughters filled my ears and pointing fingers were in sight. all the kids were screaming and hysterically laughing at me saying, "Alex peed his pants!" With a blink of an eye I was outside the classroom embarassed. the teacher called my mom to bring me some pants to change into. after i changed my teacher told me I didn't have to present at all, but as a brave kid that i was trying to be i got the nerve to present my lizard,"Spotty," to the class, eventhough everyone laughed at me when a warm water spot presented its on my…
Sometimes in your life, some events happen that becomes an unforgettable memory for you and which teaches you such lesson that becomes one of the basic guideline in your life. When I first saw my baby he was all wrapped up in a stiff white blanket with footprints from all colors of the rainbow. His eyes were closed because his cheeks were so puffed up that they kept him from being able to open them up. His face resembled a red puffy marshmallow. His head was so long and narrow it almost reminded me of a little alien head. He had a full head of curly golden sandy brown hair. His nose was small as could be. It was like a little button nose. He had the smallest little mouth but that didn’t stop him from making the loudest noise.…

It was midday, but the sky was dark. My friends and I went to a shopping mall and did the usual things like shopping. However, today was something different and we felt it. We felt uncomfortable with the atmosphere because after we shopped we walked home together. Our houses was next to the mall street.…
It was eighth grade year and we were on a band trip to Buckhannan, West Virginia where we would be the Honorary Band in the Strawberry Festival Parade. That day is the day that I will never forget. We were getting ready to march in the parade; getting all the instruments and equipment ready and putting final touches on everyone’s uniform, when all of a sudden I hear, “Tasha!” several times. I turn around and see my little sister Korie along with her mom and sister.…
Everyone has something that reminds them of something or someone. For some the smell breadfruit reminds them of the meals their mom made in every fashion since it was the only thing she could afford. For others, it's a father playing with a child, an event they either experienced or long to experience. Then there are some who remembers a love one through a special song. For me it's a little bit of all.…
