A DAY WITHOUT GADGETS
A DAY WITHOUT GADGETS!

Piyush woke up today at 11, he thought to himself that how late I am for college, I had to reach at 8 30. Well piyush that's what happens without the alarm clock. Meenal forgot to wish her best friend birthday, meenal had set the reminder in her mobile phone, but oh no mobile phone no reminder. Waiting for his friend outside the restaurant is Kabir. Well he has no idea what time is because he also doesn't have his mobile phone. You have to talk to your friend but oh no, you don't have whatsapp. A very unique thing happened today, Naina rang her friend’s house bell for the first time because she did not have her mobile phone. So we have an idea what it would feel like without having a single gadget with you for a day. I would say that imagining a day is also next to impossible even a minute would seem like a life time without our smart phones.
Our day starts with the digital alarm clock and this digital world has become a huge huge part of our daily lives. A child who is 4 enjoys playing video games on mobiles, laptops and ps3 players. An old man also needs a mobile phone because technically landlines have gone out of fashion. Therefore each person in this world is entirely dependent on the use of technology throughout the day. It has not only become a part of our world but it has solely become are world. Mobiles, television screens, laptops and computers are our best friends, we love them more than we love human beings. During earlier days, homework was not copied from Google search engine. Making plans was not as easy as it seemed. Letters were exchanged to express feelings instead of text messages. It is extremely difficult to think that how we would not survive without gadgets if he had to for one day. A cell phone helps us manage our mails, our presentations and all the birthday reminders. It is one single spot for calculations, photos, videos and games. We don't need a separate camera or calculator to do stuff. Electronic devices

Anyone living today knows the effects technology has had on society today, not to mention how it’s changed our generation entirely. Our generation can hardly remember a time when technology didn’t exist. It’s become a part of our lifestyle, and isn’t going anywhere soon. “The evolution of technology has reached a point where pretty much anything is available at the touch of a button. Shopping, learning, working and entertainment can all be accessed from the comfort of our own homes, on a train or sat in a cafe,” (The Guardian).…

Some people might say that technology is a definite positive development with only positive changes. However, although the technological advance have been and is extremely helpful to everyone around the world, people need to think about how people can be too consumed in the technology that they can isolate themselves from the outside world even. Having fun with technology is normal, but we must not forget how to really communicate without the use of texting or email. Communicating face-to-face should be a key skill humans should never lose. The saying, “having too much of a good thing, can be bad,”…

Over the past few years technology has changed and had significant impact on the way we live. Almost everyone has a smart phone, regardless of age or social status. We text and email instead of talk, because it faster and convenient. We can rent movies with a click of the button and stream it to our device or home. Everything is based on internet and although prices aren’t cheap, everyone can afford something that suits their budget. I have also noticed that our textbook uses bar scan, assuming that everyone has a smart phone to retrieve it. Tablets, which are like mini computers, absolutely took over the market. Even small children know how to operate them. They are easy to use, convenient and have all the things needed in one place. You are able to connect to people from all over the world in seconds. Not only you can hear them, but you can also see them. Things that seemed to be impossible a few years back now are only one click of a button away. The cars are equipped in road maps and phone systems, so it makes our driving more safe and helpful. We probably think it can’t get any better, but we are almost guaranteed to be introduced to a new phenomenon at least once every few months.…

The increased availability of electronic information affects me and my family greatly in our day to day activities, this has had a major impact on my life over the past few years in particular, for example I access a variety of different screen-based documents such as, e-mails, text messages, internet web pages, television etc. The decrease of paper-based documents has been extremely rapid with me and parents, with my parents accessing work material over the internet rather than being handed a paper based report. This has also impacted me as I use text messages to speak with my parents, family and friends, making it efficient for me to talk to them on the go and quickly. This saves me the journey of having to walk to friends or families houses, although these mobile phones do run on a portable battery, these are not always the most efficient making people unavailable, which is a disadvantage to this. Also another mutual thing that has affected me and parents greatly is the way that we search information; years ago I would simply walk to the library and borrow a textbook, or enquire with my parents or teachers about certain information. Now I have unlimited access to a computer with various different search engines such as; Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves etc. I can search for whatever information that I seek, and I have search…

Can humans live without their smartphones in their hands, their music playing from their MP3s, and their TVs flashing the latest news 24/7? Probably not. Electronics have been a major part of our lives since their beginning. They have provided communication worldwide, and send information about the important events in real time. Connections have increased, and social boundaries have disappeared. Take a step forward to what electronics have done to people today, and it can be assumed that electronics have done nothing but benefit us. However, this is proved to be mistaken when the devices we held interfered with the relationships we possess. In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, people are so dependant on technology it damages their need to socialize, and instead it detaches them from important relationships and issues within their community.…

“I cannot imagine how I would live without it.” These are the words uttered by countless teenagers and adults about the technology they use to enhance their daily lives. It is hard to remember the days of lugging around CD’s and walk-mans. Bicycles as transportation seem like a thing of the past. Writing notes and remembering information for the next day is long forgotten. Reading encyclopedias and using books for research papers seems nonexistent. Simple technological advancements have changed how people view the world. As a child of a modern age, technology has become an integral part of my everyday life. A separation of these technical innovations…

This process is a never-ending stream of newly adapted ideas that are consumed by society. Technology has become more than a word to us; it is our friend, a reliable source with which we turn to whenever necessary. Our mobile devices can ruin us, as it has already ruined so many once-social individuals. We have the power to control how we handle our mobile devices and other electronics. Technology can ruin your life, but only if you let it. The truth is, we are a society addicted to our phones and we have the ability to unlock our obsession to our mobile devices if we resist from typing in the passcode to this never-ending…

The world is full of technology; Almost everywhere you look you will see some form of technology, from a cellphone that can speak to you, to a computer that can run anything your heart desires. As Martin Lindstorm writes in his article “Friends who have accidentally left home without their iPhones tell me they feel stressed-out, cut off and somehow un-whole.” (Lindstorm). People tend to be overly attached to their phones, as if they were people capable of loving them back. I see how this could be possible because your phone does connect you to the people that you care about and when you can’t contact them life is a little bit more difficult. The people of this country seem to always need the fastest and newest piece of technology, often because it is viewed as a part of one’s social status. For this assignment I was tasked with going a full 24 hours without using technology. Since, society is so connected, I found this project to be very interesting, and relevant to the present day. This seemed like it would be an easy task that would not take much effort or thought; however a simple 24 hours unplugged from technology subsequently unplugged me from the world. I have never seen myself as someone who needs their devices so much; however we often learn new things about ourselves.…

One day without internet or our phones will make us feel like 10 years outside the society. We are already too dependent on modern technologies, some people stays mostly at home in their whole life. Continuously the technologies advanced and more and more people preferred to stay at home instead of meeting others outside. The entire purpose of this paper is to find out the answer to the question: How does technology affect our daily lives?” Many different sources said many different things, however they somehow all connected at one point or another. “Body and Soul: Beware of Digital Gluttony,” by Kate Wicker, suggests that technology is now apart of us and our lives and there isn't much we can do to change it. “Technology is a real part of our lives, we are living in an “ICulture” whether we like it or not.” (Wicker. Pg.21) She has made it clear that she believes that whether we see technology in a positive or negative way, it’s here to stay. However, Williesha Morris, author of “Technology Addiction: Breaking the Chain,” says something a little different. “If you're an executive over the age of 30-35, you remember a time when such devices didn’t exist. They weren’t needed then, so why are they so crucial now?” (Morris.Pg.17) Morris seems to believe that we don't need them today, or she's at least questioning why society relies on technology as much as it does.…
