What I have chosen to do my assignment on is the product Tea. It is a familiar product which is known worldwide. The process to making tea requires a lot of effort and hard work. Tea is the second most common beverage worldwide, the first being water. The company I have chosen is Lyons. They are the most common tea company in Ireland. Tea comes from the plant Camellia Sinensis. This plant can be grown anywhere, tea is best grown in cooler climates. The Tea plant has to reach maturity before the leaves can be harvested from it. When making Tea, there are two ideas to be had from it, the first is to make sure there is no moisture on the leaves and the second is to bring out the flavour during the steeping process. Each Tea plant takes about 5 years to mature. Tea originates on farms that are also known as ‘Tea Gardens’. Some Tea Gardens can stretch from thousands of acres. There are six main categories that tea can be divided into to, black green, oolong, white, compressed and flavoured teas. (www.tea.com)

When the leaves have matured the workers then pick them by hand. The tea leaves are then sent to be steamed, they will then be air dried. If this process isn’t done the tea leaves can also be sent for rolling. This helps the leaves be exposed to oxygen so they can then be dried out. The Tea leaves can then be then oxidised or pan fried. If they are pan fried, then there is a low level of oxidisation it can then be sent for hand finishing, which involves more rolling and Tea is produced. For green, black and white tea the process is standard. With changes to the oxidisation leaves this will help produce the different varieties of Tea there are available today. Factory tea-tasters will taste the finished Product make to ensure that no mistakes have been made during the manufacture or that the tea has not been contaminated by anything within the factory. After each make of tea the tea factory is washed from top to bottom to ensure that the completed make does not contaminate the next make of tea. (www.ashworthtea.com)

When Lyons are going to box and sell their Tea bags they are put into special machines that are designed just for tea. Thousands of teabags are put into this machine at a time. They can be any shape or size. They are then sealed and put into containers or boxes. Lyons tea company then begin to sell their product to larger supermarkets, and salespeople who go into smaller and local shops. Tea can be sold in multiple ways, some being at auctions or other ways being direct trade. Tea prices are generally decided by the government of a country. Economics shows that the supply and demand are also taken into consideration. The quality of Tea is also important, for people who drink a lot of Tea on a day to basis, they will know which quality is good and which is of a cheaper standard. At the minute there is said to be over 1500 cups of tea worldwide. Companies who sell Tea bags make their own packaging, they have their own unique name and image and this is how people decide which cup of tea to buy. Lyons tea bags are said to be one of the best selling tea companies in Ireland. They produce a good cup of tea and their customers remain loyal. (www.coffeetea.about.com)

According to Chinese tradition, the first cup of tea was brewed by the emperor Shen Nung. He was the second emperor of China and is known to have invented agriculture, the plow, and discovery of medicinal herbs. Tea was accidently discovered when Shen Nung was carrying wild tea brush to use as firewood when a gust of wind blew some tea leaves into his pot of boiling water. He found the mixture a delicate and refreshing drink. Tea evolved into an everyday drink in China. The Chinese used tea to heal the sick and to quench thirst. Tea was also a huge economic benefit to China. Tea blocks were even used as a currency, and still is used in some parts of central Asia. Japan was convinced about the benefits of tea when there military leader became ill, and a Buddhist monk named Eisai cured him with the help of some tea. In japan the ceremony of making tea was taken to a new level. Every step of the process is extremely complex and specific. Japan’s greatest tea master, Rikyu, once said “If the tea and eating utensils are of bad taste, and if the natural layout and planning of the trees and rocks in the tea-garden are unpleasing, then it is as well to go straight back home. Tea is first mentioned in European reports in the 1550’s. But the shipment of tea to Europe did not start until 1610. The first tea in Europe was green tea. In the beginning of the eighteenth century, almost nobody drank tea in Britain, and nearly everyone did by the end of it. Tea began as a luxury item, but when the British East India Company established trading posts in china the price began to drop and amount of tea began to rise. In factories the workers were even offered tea breaks. Tea also prevented disease in Europe. The tea act of 1773 gave the British government right to tax American colonists. This this caused the colonists to boycott British goods and eventually led to the Boston Tea Party. After the opium war, British botanist Nathaniel Wallich discovered that tea was indigenous in…

Throughout his experiences Greg Mortenson learned some life changing lessons. On of the most notable of these is when Greg learns from Haji Ali that Americans think that everything has to happen very quickly and that America thought by using a shock and awe tactic towards the war that they could end it before it event began. Also Haji Ali teaches Greg to share 3 cups of tea to slow down and make relations ships and as important as building things. This quote is very striking in that Haji Ali helps Greg see a major difference between the two cultures: that Americans constantly think that everything has to happen now, oppose to the culture Haji Ali was raised in, they value slowing down and focusing on the important things.…

I found it wonderful that someone like Mortenson went from a mountaineer to a humanitarian. God’s plan for Mortenson wasn’t to be a mountaineer at all; his plan for him was to do great things in impoverished countries. The way that he failed to climb K2 then randomly wandered into Pakistan is miraculous, something even more inspiring then that is that he stayed around long enough to be moved by the people and to see the real problems that were going on in this village. He was moved by the way that the kids were trying to teach themselves using twigs and stones to draw things in the dirt. The children wanted to learn but they didn’t have the resources to do so. When Mortenson saw this he decided to build schools for the uneducated.…

"A Cup of Tea" by Katherine Mansfield (1888 to 1923-New Zealand) is included in the 1923 collection of her work, The Dove's Nest and Other Stories edited by Mansfield's husband, John Middleton Murry. There is a very moving introduction to this collection in which Murry lets us know details about the next ten stories his wife was going to write. There is a temptation in reading Mansfield to see her work as artistically peaking in 1921 and 1922 given that we know these are her last stories. I sense a rapid growth in her artistic depth during this period but it is a feeling of a writer just starting to find her true power not of a writer at her zenith.…

The first product I choose product Coffee and Tea of 'Yogi'. Yogi Tea is good for health, using natural ingredients. Yogi has the distinct advantage. The Yogi gives energy and elevates mood. I find that there are many weaknesses in terms of product design, such as typography, color, illustration, design, packaging and logo. Typography used to product 'Yogi 'look okay, less attractive, less obtrusive and do not seem relevant to the product. In addition, the use of color in the product 'Yogi' looks a bit grim and not suitable as a tea product. Colour is also used too much and do not show the product of nature. Colour is used also looks bleak for the selected color mixed. Often the red colour will raise starving person. But in the packaging of Ginseng Vitality, red color used too faded and in terms of color tone does not fit over the edge. Green Tea Pure Green Decaf uses the green color which is less favorable for the use hujau pull too slow make product is like a plant that died. To use the color blue to Rest and Relax Sampler was not interesting because of the use of blue is too pale and dull. Use tone of each product is not suitable in the middle. This shows the color looks weird. In terms of illustration, it uses a mix of real and vector images as design. Illustration used also seem less charm and pictures of plants seem helpless and grim. In terms of packaging, the packaging is made too large and does not fit the size of the tea. Packaging for tea is also just a square base and looked the same. In addition, there is a logo on the packaging only using Typo as a logo. The logo looks too simple and uninteresting. The use of color in the logo is white and the pattern is just around showing boredom when they see one. In terms of design, the irregular tidal it matches…
