A Diamond Building
Diamond Building-Bangunan Suruhanjaya Tenaga, Putrajaya Energy-efficient buildings are designed with emphasis on environmentally friendly, such as energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, use of renewable energy and so on. From the physical characteristics of the buildings we can see the use of glass which will allow entry of sunlight, thus reducing the use of lights. This shows the savings in electricity consumption. In addition, heat from the lights can also be reduced by it to contribute to the reduction of global temperatures. The use of green technology in building construction can also save costs less equipment where necessary in maintenance.

In addition, most of the development use fossil fuels that contribute to global warming. Through the concept of green building, the use of fossil fuels can be reduced by using alternative materials such as solar energy (sunlight), water energy, wind energy, hydrogen, and oil palm biomass.

Green technology also provides benefits to the environment as well as enhance and protect ecosystems, improve air and water quality, reduce waste and contaminated materials to protect natural resources. The use of green technology should be encouraged due to the deepening global warming today. While green technology in Malaysia is not advance other countries such as Germany, Japan and other energy-efficient construction of new shows for Malaysia to move more rapidly towards the future.

Buildings will be awarded with the GBI rating based on six key criteria:
(i) Energy Efficiency (EE):
Improve energy consumption by optimizing building orientation, maximizing solar heat gain through the building envelope, harvesting natural lighting, adopting the best practices in building services including use of renewable energy, and ensuring proper testing, commissioning and regular maintenance.
(ii) Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ): Achieve good quality performance in indoor

There are a number of augments in favor of the diversification of energy sources in Australia. Using alternative sources of energy of the dependency on fossil fuel such as coal may reduce the greenhouse gas emission impact on the environment. Nicholls (2009) speculates that using clean energy that depends on natural wind, sun and geothermal in not only practical and has economical advantages but it also may be able to reduce the CO2 emission to 50% by 2040. In addition, sustainable energy is not only essential for Australians economic and ecosystem, in fact it is crucial solution to the worldwide environmental crisis such as climate change which is strongly linked to the ongoing development that is based on fossil fuel. Nicholls (2009) asserts that green and sustainable energy must be supported globally especially by industrialized countries.…

In order to understand how to conserve energy, there needs to be a definition of what non-renewable resources are. According to Ingrid Kelley, author of Energy in America: a Tour of Our Fossil Fuel Culture and Beyond, coal, oil, and natural gas are called fossil fuels because they were formed from layers of carbon-based organic matter that had been plants and simple marine creatures many millions of years ago (Kelly 14). While they were buried under sediment, these organic layers were concentrated by time, pressure, and terrain into various carbon deposits containing significant amounts of energy, which ancient swamps and forests soaked up from the sun (Kelley 14). This means that the energy that we use today for fuel and power to provide electricity for our homes and offices is a dying source. Fossil fuels take millions of years to be reproduced, and the way America burns through them, it would be impossible for them to be a consistent source of energy. From looking at the way energy consumption is at this point and time it does not seem to add…

(ASBEC) suggests that the building sector is directly responsible for around 24% of the total energy use. At present this is split fairly evenly between the residential and commercial building sectors. Reducing energy use and reducing greenhouse gas emissions are both worthwhile goals as it saves money and saves the environment. Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has been presented with increasing urgency within recent years as it is driving climate change. There are many opportunities to reduce energy and emissions within the building sector.…

Before reading this book the thought of someone going hungry did not quite cross my mind. I guess I do not think about things like this because I have not experience anything like this before. Although, I see things on social media and on television it still does not hit me that much. Just thinking of people who are starving makes me wonder what are they going to do to survive. To think of someone going hungry is sad enough and sometime can be emotional.…

Buildings designed for passive solar and daylighting incorporate design features such as large south-facing windows and building materials that absorb and slowly release the sun's heat. No mechanical means are employed in passive solar heating. Incorporating passive solar designs can reduce heating bills as much as 50 percent. Passive solar designs can also include natural ventilation for cooling.…

‘’Fossil fuels are coal, natural gas and petroleum.’’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fossil_fuel) They are all organic residues. People use this for their energy, fuel and heating requirements. But fossil fuels polluting environment so much and people started to think about using alternative energy for their environment’s healthy. ‘’These alternative energy resources are windy power, solar energy and geothermal energy.‘’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_energy) They are renewable resources and they pollute environment so much less than fossil fuels because of that many people want to use alternative energy for their environment’s health but many people want to use fossil fuels because of alternative energy is not much common and useful these days because it needs new investments and it’s really difficult to make it common in the world. In my opinion alternative energy cannot effectively replace with fossil fuels because it’s really expensive, risky and the earth is not ready for this now.…

    1) The most important factor in maximizing energy efficiency is the architecture of the building. ETTV measures the amount of heat absorbed from the building environment and is integral to better energy efficiency of a building. As heat absorbed from the environment by the walls, windows, roof of a building make up a significant portion of a building’s cooling needs, it is important to minimize this heat (the lower the ETTV, less energy is required to cool the building).…

People nowadays are more concern about the environmental since they know the effect of pollution to the environment and to human’s health. Usually the conventional building used a lot of amount of power and produced large amount of carbon dioxides annually. Therefore, conventional building is one of the sources of global warming. Green building concept is an effort made to reduce the impacts of conventional building. Green building is a space and energy efficient home which can offer coziness and healthy living environment to its peoples. The green building used the sustainable resources. It is considered as sustainable resources because it can maximise our resources by taking from the natural and produce less effect on the environment.…
