GENERAL INFORMATION
PROJECT SUMMARY

A. NAME OF THE FIRM/PROJECT Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina / Automated School System

B. LOCATION

PLMar is located in Concepcion, Marikina City. It has two satellite campuses namely Concepcion Elementary School and H. Bautista Elementary School. Classes in the main campus are conducted from 7am to 9:30pm from Monday to Saturday while in the two satellite campuses classes are from 3pm to 9:30pm.

C. DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS

PLMar is a locally funded university. Although the university charges the students very minimal tuition and miscellaneous fees, the city of Marikina subsidizes the operations of the university. The university offers diverse full-course programs and TESDA courses. The performance of students in board exams has been above the national passing average over the years.

D. PROJECT LONG – RANGE OBJECTIVES

The administration aims to develop an automated school system that will cover all operations of the University from Admission to employment services.

MAJOR ASSUMPTION/FINDINGS/CONCLUSION

A. MARKETING ASPECT

Initially, PLMar accepts students who are Marikina residents only but in 2012, PLMar opened its doors to other students from nearby cities and municipalities. PLMar charges a higher tuition and miscellaneous fees for non-Marikina resident students. The tuition and miscellaneous fees of PLMar are lower than other LUCs.

B. MANAGEMENT ASPECT

The thrust of the university is to implement the city’s education plans. PLMar encourages students with financial capabilities to enroll in private schools. PLMar only accepts students with low-income parents but intellectually capable.

C. TECHNICAL ASPECT

Presently PLMar has an MIS department that basically maintains all computer
