Friendship is very important for our life. A good friend makes our life more abundant. I make a survey at RIS to consult their opinion about the good friend. But, what is the good friend?
The good friend is a gift for our life. Anaos Nin said: “Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world.” But, what is the good friend? 100% students said “yes” with question: “do you have a good friend?” It is normal. We can’t imagine our life without friends.
However, we usually choose friend with other cases. It is the result of the survey. 100% students think the good friend is a person to understand them, 100% are to care about their problems, 80% to travel with them and help them to solve their problems, 60% are the one they can share their secrets, 60% are the one will offer some useful advices sincerely if they do wrong, 40% are the one usually reciprocates study and future with them, and only 20% to know their wishes.
So the students will choose someone who is their friend with two important standards: to understand them and to care about their problems. They don’t mind their friend to know their wishes or to reciprocate study and future with them. No one thinks about their good friend as the one who trusts them.
On the other hand, we usually expect too much from their friend. Sometimes we are easy to overlook our duty as the good friend of someone.
80% students think they are the good friend and 20% are not sure. Therefore, the question is “what will you do if your close friend misjudges you?” 40% said “talk to them”, 40% “be quiet”, and 20% “tell teacher”. This is interesting results because 40% will talk to their friend when they don’t understand each other. I realize that if they usually talk together they will have more chances to know their wishes of friend, to understand their friend and to continue their friendship. 40% are quiet and 20% tell their teacher.
I am dogmatic that these 40% don’t understand clearly about friendship yet. But after this survey, I hope they had some standards of a good friend. So I predict they will do differently with their friend in the future.
I get confuse that there are only 40% for talking to their friend because if they talk a little with their friend, so how do their friend can understand them, or care about their problems and help them. 60% don’t want to talk to their friend if their friend misjudges them. I think that “trust” is the most important standard for friendship. Christopher P. Roberts-Griffin, writer of a research “What Is a Good Friend: A Qualitative Analysis of Desired Friendship Qualities”, wrote “For ages 15-30 […] trust was the most reported desired quality in a close

Unlike the author of “How’d He Do That” I believe the narrative of “Araby” is like the book of Genesis as a sense of gaining knowledge rather than loosing purity. Throughout the beginning of “Araby” the boy is content with his friends and daily rituals just like Adam and Eve were happily content with the garden they inhabited. However, when the boy lays eyes on a girl who is older than he, and in a sense “forbidden fruit”, his vision begins to tunnel and she soon becomes an idol to him causing him to block out all his surroundings. When Eve becomes acquainted with the serpent of the garden and learns of the tree with the “forbidden fruit” she could not help but be attracted to the mystery and wonder it radiated. Just as she was driven to eat…

Respect for each another is imperative in a friendship. Everyone has secrets, so one should not press for answers when the other is clearly unwilling to share the information. If the person wants to share the secret, it is important to be a good listener. One should be responsible by never compromising a friend’s trust and revealing it to other people. In addition to being considerate of another’s privacy, a good friend should not be too judgmental. Although one should never be afraid to contradict a friend, as everyone is allowed to have his own opinion, he should be mindful of the friend’s feelings.…

When I asked Google to define a friend it gave me 82,300,000 related results, but when I asked the definition of a good friend it only showed 47,000,000 results. This proved how people tend to have more challenges in characterizing what a good friend is, probably because it is harder to find one. Generally, a friend is described as a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations. Almost every single one of us will immediately nod in agreement to this definition and explain how your good friend never fails to make you smile. They are the ones who support every action you made, every word you said, and every decision you take.…

While interviewing people each of them had a slightly or completely different definition of a good friend. THREE KINDS OF FRIENDS In each person’s life, there are many people who come and go, but a few of them can become your friends. Sometimes you have problems, you can solve it yourself or you have to ask someone for help. At that time, a close friend usually stands beside you and solve your problems with you. It is easy to find some people to make a friend but very difficult to find a real friend who can help you whenever you need. Besides, friendships need honest, too. People shouldn’t lie to each other, lying cannot keep on the relationship. So it is not easy to keep a strong friendship. There are three kinds of friends that you always meet: a new friend, an international friend, an honest friend. The first kind of friend is a new friend. You can easily find a new friend anywhere. For example, when you go to the gym, you ask someone to show you how to improve your health, your muscle or do exercises; they can become your friend. Sometimes you can talk with them, but not about everything; because they are not people that you can trust or they cannot understand you. Other example, when you have any troubles, you need advice from your friends. Maybe a new friend just knows you for a short time; that is not enough time for him to understand you, so he cannot give you any advice. Another kind of friend is an international friend. This friend is very special and interesting. You can find them when you travel to a foreign country, study aboard or work for a foreign company. You can learn very much from them; for example, your international friend will give you some advice of their experience about travel when you travel to foreign country. When you study aboard, they can help you improve your language skills; they show you about…
