A Hidden Beauty A legend of an ugly princess hidden in a cave by her royal parents to avoid embarrassment as cursed by a enchantress. When the child grew up, she came out of the cave and became amazed at what she saw. The enchantress, who cursed her parents, saw her and made an offer to transform her into something of great beauty and splendor. She accepted the offer and became the Tinago Falls. The City of Iligan, a city where most of my childhood summer is spent. We usually called it the city of waterfalls, a city where you can see the beauty of a nature in every spot of the town. Almost three hundred kilometers from the City of Butuan where my hometown is, average of seven hours travel, and two hours trip from Cagayan de Oro. Iligan is a place where I can see a city that is neighbored by a green and foggy mountains. Iligan is known of its waterfalls especially, Maria Cristina falls. But for me, the only falls that makes my heart melt of its beauty is Tinago falls. Tinago is a Filipino term meaning "hidden", the falls being hidden in a deep ravine. Trekking to the falls requires approximately five hundred descending steps called the winding staircase. The falls is high, its very cold waters cascading beautifully into a deep and calm basin-like pool which appears like a green-colored lagoon. Under the falls is a small cave where people can enter and listen to the rumbling waters. I liked where it is, down a mountain top. I love the stair made ladder going down and up. I love the cool spring water falls from above. The rainbow site you will see as you go under the falls. You can't stop smiling even with the tiring experience of climbing down and forth the hill. Sweet remembrance as you recall it. From the top of the falls you can hear the cry of the forest as the waters blaze your sight where the force of nature roughly falls down into the green deep lagoon. The rough waters slowly calms down and brings a sweet singing of music by the
