A Personal View of World Domination
The thesis or topic “a personal view of world domination” may sound maniacal or egotistical beyond belief, however when taken in the proper context it can actually begin to be more realistic. I have been taught that a person can control their own destiny in life when they apply knowledge, discipline, and continuous faith, towards any worthwhile goal. Readers may or may not agree with my hypothesis and that is certainly your prerogative. However, my hope today is to share my opinion that may somehow spark a creative fire within enabling you to better your station in life and become a positive influence for others.
In the reading, “A Brief Guide to World Domination,” by Chris Guillebeau, I became disturbed when I read the excerpts relating to the young man, at age 26, traveling in business class enjoying champagne and a fine meal while flying to yet another foreign destination. It was not the fact that he was enjoying the rewards from his previous efforts that bothered me, but the fact that I personally have been in similar situations and failed to develop contingency plans for the continued growth of my own goals. I allowed my unmanaged mediocre goals to fall by the wayside, and suffered declines in my personal productivity and achievement.
When we read and hear of things like a higher power, destiny, and predetermined paths, it may sound hokey to some, but to me it provides insight into new avenues for achievement. For example; I am now age 58, and can say that I have accomplished several things that a boy growing up in a rural Western Pennsylvania coal mining town of 700 people could never have imagined attempting, let alone accomplishing. The point is that now I realize that a goal’s success or failure rests squarely on my shoulders, and is dependent on my preparation, execution, and consistency.
