As soon they heard what I just said; they both hugged me and began to cry with me. I was so sad that I couldn't get through the door to leave. I stayed with them for almost the whole night. Finally, when the time to leave was coming, I left them.

<br>My friends are so nice with me that it was so hard to tell them bye. They were sad as I was because we have to separate each other's. I missed them a lot. Specially, I missed them when I go to play soccer with my new friends that I made here. We used to play soccer in the "Plaza".

I remember my first day in America like it just happened yesterday! I moved to America from India when I was just 12 year old. When I started my journey to America, I was getting mixed feelings, one side I was excited to go to America I saw in movies and wanted to be a part of great American culture but on the other side I was feeling sad about leaving behind my friends and place I was born and spent my childhood. But when Pilot announced that we are about to reach to Houston in 30 minutes I got anxious and opened my seat window. When I looked Houston through plane window, cars on freeway looked like ants’ running in one line and that was really interesting to me.…

At the age of two my parents made the long and devastating journey to bring me and my siblings to the United States from Mexico. They sought for a brighter and better future for us and fought tooth and nail to give us the world they didn’t have growing up. Ever since I had stepped foot on U.S soil I never had the chance to go back. The sacrifices that permitted me to be able to attend school for free and giving me a better head start than I would’ve had if we’d stayed couldn’t mask the effects of the move. I didn’t grow up being enriched by the colorful culture that Mexico has, I missed out on the opportunity to share moments with my family from abroad, and fought the struggle of trying to blend in, in an environment that was so different…

As it was 2005 I was very excited to arrive in Abroad for the first time and I was extremely glad because I arrived in one of my favorite countries. For me USA was a wide place of opportunities where I had an open hand to compose an exceptional future. I was glad and a little sad too because I assumed it kind of delicate compromise to leave all my relatives behind in my country and come here but the race of life make man learn and adjust in.…

That was the day that my grandpa passed away. Every single part of that date is engrained in my memory. My parents had driven up to Wisconsin, and my older sister Lauren drove home for college to stay with me. It wasn’t out of the normal for my parents to quickly leave, so I didn’t think much of it. I remember going to hang out with Tatum, my best friend of the time. It was a nice day outside, so of course we were outside playing on the trampoline and doing all our weird routines like we always did. Her family, who was like a second family to me, decided to go out to eat so they brought me along. We went to La Charitas. I remember how Mrs. Teeple pulled out a funny card game for us to play, and I remember Tatum cutting out faces in her tortilla, making us all laugh. When we got back to the house we saw that my sister called, so I said bye to the Teeples and walked one minute down the road to my house. Lauren, who is one of the most emotional in the family, was left with the task of telling me that my grandpa had passed away. I had just grabbed a snack of chocolate cheerios as she started to tell me the news. I didn’t know how to react, so I ran into the basement directly to the furthest corner I could find. Lauren tried talking to me, but I wanted to be by myself. One of the hardest things I have ever done was talking to my dad on the phone after finding out. He called to tell me the plans, that he was coming home to get us, and…

I kept crying every day over stuff I’ve lost in my country, but my grandmother encouraged me to look for positive outcomes. We were safe now, away from all of those cartel members who were prosecuting us, and that have assaulted my dad (who was a police officer) several times, now I understand why Mom cried every time Dad called her in the midnight. I also had access to a better education. Since I had to pay for High School in my country, now being able to attend it for free in the U.S is something I’m very thankful of, in addition of a better economic…

The water was quiet so quiet that I could hear the ripples in the water. I tried to skip rocks through the water, but all I could think about was you. How it was a very sad and lonely day. One day I thought about the trees and the flowers, but of course you'd pop up again. I always thought that life would be possible without you. The more I think about it; the more that dream seems to be impossible. I hate this life I live because school nor life could ever be as good as you were. You were the inspiration that kept me going in school that made me try and now that you're gone I don't know what to do with my life anymore. I hate the fact that I don't know this and all I really need help is with my History class, but that can't even seem to be close to being done since all you do now a days is ignore me.
