A simple solution satire
A Simple Solution Junk foods such as potato chips, carbonated drinks , and candy are a popular snack item choice by children and young adults alike. Containing high fat, sugar, and calories , junk foods are highly addictive and can cause many health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity, but on top of all of that Americans are the top consumers of this junk food. My proposition to end this problem is to inject lethal poison in all Junk foods such as candy, chips , and cola. But not only would we poison Junk foods, we would also poison so called “Heather alternatives” which claim to be a healthy junk food substitutes hidden as “sport drinks” and “flavored baked multi grain crackers” with a even more lethal chemical. Thus weeding out not only the addicted junk food eaters but the dumber ones who fall for that kind of trap creating a more intellectual America. But that is a different subject. So why wait for the negative effects of junk food to “poison” the consumer's bodies when we could just poison and punish them right then and there. The added lethal poison would only be fatal when eating a large amount of it, So only small amounts would be added, and would only punish the over eaters. As you can see this solution not only punish, the unhealthy Americans but also prevent the negative effects of eating too much junk food. Seeing the punished would set an example to all people, as they would realize their fate when consuming larger amounts of junk foods. In all the poisoning of junk foods would make for a healthier, brighter, and a more alert America. As you can tell, it becomes clear to see why my solution is the best choice to combat the problem of the over consumption of junk food by people.

Every one has seen the infamous TV commercial with the young couple sitting in a park on a blanket, innocently sharing a Popsicle made out of High Fructose Corn Syrup. The female offers her male cohort a portion of the frozen treat, responding to his hesitance with the disreputable claim hosted by the corn industry, “sugar is sugar.” Ironic, this commercial enticing the general public to accept the ill-fated ingredient of High Fructose Corn Syrup, is the epitome of Eve offering Adam the apple in The Garden of Eden. High Fructose Corn Syrup has seemed to invade even the most discrete products in the current day kitchen. Hiding in ketchup, soups, and meats, to name only a few, this overused sweetener has wreaked havoc on the American people; much less the unfortunate, overweight, diseased, diabetic rats that fell victim to its studies. High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a man made, chemically altered, and potentially neurotoxic byproduct, largely at fault for our nation’s health epidemics of obesity diabetes and cardiac disease, but if eradicated from our diet the sequelae of its morbid effects could be alleviated.…

It is not only the fact that they choose to eat unhealthy, but more so that they have these delicious, mouthwatering, and cheap foods right in their cupboards. “Junk food”, as stated by Gregory Lopez, soared during the 1980’s and 1990’s, doubling among adults in the U.S. and tripling among children (Natural News). Americans dietary habitats have been under close criticism, and media coverage has been very prominent in this critique, analyzing the way in which Americans have been eating. Through examples that stretch from nutritionists’ opinions to food labels our perceptions of good dietary habits have been largely skewed. The Food and Drug Administration has not been warning the public sufficiently about the harmful affects of the foods we consume. One of the most prominent, controversial, substances is sugar, which is also known as sucrose and fructose. Sugar is considered to be an under rated food that many consume without even thinking about what they are actually putting into their bodies. Through these two articles the reader is informed that sugar can be both “poisonous” and “deadly”. With the consumption of sugar rising, obesity rates are subsequently rising. In examining the impact of sugar on our health one may read, “The Toxic Truth About Sugar” written by Robert Lusting, Laura Schmidt and Clair Brindis, published in Nature volume 482 in February 2012 and “Is Sugar Toxic” by Gary Taubes, published in the New York Times Magazine on April 17, 2011. These two articles examine why individuals over consume sugar and the way in which individuals over consume sugar. All the while each article seemingly points out different solutions or potential solutions to the way in which the world should go about addressing this issue.…

So how could we let them consume food that could give them health or medical problems in their future? Today, one in three teenagers are considered obese. The argument as to whether or not schools should be able to sell junk food is a highly controversial topic. Sugar-filled snacks, sugary drinks, and snacks high in saturated fat are a favorite among children. In most cases, when faced with the decision, a child will no doubt choose a bag of chips over an apple. What would a change in the availability of these snacks teach children? Some argue that removing these snacks from schools takes away parental rights, but a parent should want what is best for their child. Although the selling of unhealthy foods serves as a source for additional revenue for schools, school administrators should ban the sale of items that promote an unhealthy lifestyle. Not only does junk food cause unhealthy eating habits that lead to child hood obesity, but it also contributes to health issues such as diabetes, heart disease, and various forms of cancer.…
