The Skin I’m In Compare and Contrast Essay
The Skin I 'm In by Sharon G. Flake features Maleeka who is a 13 year old girl who is tall, dark skinned and skinny. Other teens ridicule her for these reasons and she feels like a loser and an outcast. Maleeka matures and learns to love the skin she is in.Maleeka can relate to Miss Saunders as she is a new teacher who arrives at the school and she has a large and shocking white patch on her face, yet is very comfortable in her own skin.
The movie that I pick is “16 Wishes” because it’s a little bit the same from the book “The Skin I’m In”. The movie “16 Wishes” tells the story of Abby Jensen, a girl who’s been eager to reach her 16th birthday and has kept a secret wish list since she was a little girl. When the Big Day actually arrives, utter disaster strikes, leaving Abby to think her birthday is ruined. But when a mysterious box of magical birthday candles arrives to turn things around, Abby 's 16 Wishes start to come true. Her day gets better and better until she makes one wish that threatens to change everything.
Well the little bit the same about this two stories is that Maleeka 's problem in the book 'The Skin I 'm In ' was that she was always being picked on and bullied because of her dark skin, the clothes she wears and her poverty and in the movie “16 Wishes” is that Abby bullied also of her friend Krista the reason why Krista always bullied Abby because Abby take Krista’s friend Jay that’s why Krista hates Abby.
Well also the difference between the stories is that Maleeka bullied because of her outside look it’s skinny, black but Abby bullied because of the friend. Here’s another differences between the two stories Abby is eager to grow up Abby tends to be ignorant until the her eyes are open to the world but Maleeka A poor, black girl who gets teased harshly at her middle school because of her dark skin color and homemade clothes it’s a very big

Khaled Hosseini’s and Emily Bronte’s novels, A Thousand Splendid Suns and Wuthering Heights both deal with issues of discrimination that affect the lead characters in the novels, where it be class, gender or race. Another point is, because of all this intolerance for black people, the whites are creating more and more fights and discrepancies in society what leads to an unsafe world for everyone. White people fight and destroy themselves by judging the black peoples way of living. This way of living is namely a characteristic, not the way someone looks like. That means that blacks and whites are the same group of people. In “Black like me” the sexual life of blacks is known as a better thing than the whites sexual life. From my research I would like to cover some of the different shows that I think have the most recognized names in the television world for being provocative and distasteful. I would like to show my view point as well as cite some articles that I found on this topic. I will limit my topic to focusing on the morals and values these shows lack for our children as well of anyone else that is watching these shows. For instance these reality shows such as Maury and Jerry Springer I do not let my daughter watch because I do not want to condone those types of lifestyles. My daughter is in her teens and I want her to have good morals and values going into adulthood.…
