A Trip To The Beach
A trip to the beach A group of friends and I decided to make a decision about where to go this summer for a vacation. I met up with my group after creating a group message with them through cell phones to find out what dates all be free to talk about where to go this summer. We were meeting up at 5 pm at my friend’s house. I and few friends from the group have been arrived at the house on time. There are other friends who always come in late came 30 minutes late. After everyone was arrived at his place than decision making has been started about the vacation. Few friends always went off topic talking about their life and what they did on the past weekend. Communication was so irrelevant to the topic and time was being wasted. One of my other friends was well prepared to communicate about the topic for decision making. The way he was talking it looked like he done a lot of research earlier before getting to the house which was very helpful. He had also printed out some of the good deals he saw about going to Hawaii. He passed around the printed out pictures and had the total cost with other accommodation. Everyone came to conclusion and a problem was raised about everyone can afford to go Hawaii. Suddenly everyone started talking to each other and there was no listener besides me who can listen and carefully analyzing what the person has to say and reply him back. Few friends than started talking into their little group about the situation. Finally all small group came as a big group now and started talking about one by one which was very effective communication. Everyone was being cooperative and respectful what others have to say or about their possibly ideas to go somewhere not too far away from where we live. They got a laptop started doing research and came to a conclusion about going to Miami, Florida instead for 3 nights. Everyone was mutually agreeing on the place. So the most significant source of influence was when one of my friend started looking up

I remember a time in school when we had to do a project with a team of classmates. We were supposed to come up with an idea for a business and set up everything about the business such as the name, type of business, how it would be managed and so on. There were four students in the group and we were able to get many different ideas about what type of business we should have and what the names would be. Each person was able to be in charge of different parts of assignment, and that way no one was required to do a large amount of work in a set time. Although we did get an A, there were some failures as well. Some students in the group were more willing to give input and weren’t afraid to speak up about their ideas. Others had to be pushed for ideas and tended to go along with what the others thought was a good decision even if they might not have agreed. Even when it was time to divvy of the work, there were discrepancies. I particularly didn’t like the idea of giving each person something different to do, only because some in the group didn’t really care about the project as much as others and I felt they weren’t trying their best on their part. It might have been better in my opinion to work…

I removed myself from my friend group but still stayed within ear shot of them. As I watched my friends huddle around each other, it's very clear who the dominate voice was. It was Eric. He determined what they talked about, what was funny, and ultimately what they thought about his topic. Among these topics, were videos making fun of Al Qaeda terrorists. Everyone knows that that is a serious issue with a lot of emotional baggage. Yet... they were laughing. A couple people acknowledged the crudeness of his sense of humor but they laughed anyway for the sake of being part of the group. I feel as teenagers, we try to stay away from awkward situation so we just go along with what everyone else is doing. It's "group-think." It only takes one dominant voice and people will follow suit like a badelynge following their mother in a straight line and never deviating from the rules set before them.…

Discussions among group members were held 4 times, on the 29th October, 2nd November, 4th November and 6th November, respectively. Besides of our normal meeting in college, the discussions also were held through the MSN chat and email. Each of our group members was allocated with task and although conflicts arise during the discussion, we still managed to solve the problem. In my opinion, conflict in a group is not necessarily bad and we use several of techniques in order to resolve conflicts like compromising and exercises work delegation.…

Group communication relies on prior understanding of the group objectives and the group's culture. Unlike individual communication, individuals in a group do not provide feedback directly to one another. Rather, they provide feedback to be addressed by the entire group. With group communication, every participant’s input is necessary to help the group comprehend the objectives so that the whole group can benefit and arrive at mutual understanding. Therefore, in individual communication, the exchange of ideas and opinion is specific to the two individuals involved. Whereas, group communication involves many people and the communication is not specific to just one person. Group communication includes the input of many people which makes the process more difficult. Everyone in the group contributes ideas that need consideration. Members of a group want to feel that their input is having impact on the group dynamics.…

My group’s overall cooperation was really well but had minor arguments here and there. A minor argument my group had was discussing what we should do for our performance. My group couldn’t decide whether we wanted to perform it in class or in a video. It was a slight dispute but we finally agreed to make a video. What made us work well is that we all get along with each other. As people in general we are all friends but specifically in class that sometimes makes it difficult to overcome the distractions. The fact that we get along made us more open to each other’s ideas and cooperation. In making of our…
