The purpose of this step is to enhance financial statements for users, through improves in the amortized cost measurement, basically focused in the transparency for losses on loans and the creditworthiness of financial assets.…
Nation wide uniformes does violate the first amendment. Forcing students to wear uniforms infringes on their right to free speech and expression. However, schools can promote a voluntary student uniform policy. School officials who favor dress codes say that they reduce classroom violence and improve the educational environment. Educators report that dress codes reduce the number of fights in schools.…
The majority of public school students believe uniforms interfere with their first amendment rights. When wearing uniforms, students feel their creativity and ability to express themselves are being affected, when in fact uniforms may curb negative behavior associated with student dressing. This allows the student to focus on school work instead of being distracted by the clothing.…
None of the schools I have attended had a uniform requirement and many students dressed in ways I found inappropriate. The private school I attended had a strict dress code but public school teachers often overlook the violation of dress code. School uniforms bring a more formal look; giving the school a better reputation and creating a sense of belonging among the students. My style is very diverse and reveals my general interests, whether it be nerdy shirts, girly clothing or vintage outfits from the 40's. Personally, I have always been comfortable in my clothing whether I fit in with others or not. In fact, I always prefer to look different and I have more than enough clothing to express my unique style. I do, however, have friends that always feel under pressure to wear the right clothing and often borrow clothes from me. It is reasons such as these why all schools should require uniforms. School uniforms may be the prominent aspect of our society’s road to success in educating its…
Moreover, when students are allowed to wear whatever they want, it causes judgment. If you don’t have the latest in fashion or have something that everybody around you does, you will get teased. If you don’t have money and you get all your clothes from goodwill, while the girl next to you has the newest Louie Vuitton purse, it causes a decrease in your self-confidence. Though this breaks the first amendment “freedom of expression”, your expression in the way you dress should not be putting you at risk for bullying and lack of confidence. Uniforms may not look the best on everybody but no one can judge each other because we all look the same.…
Students should have the right to be able to wear what they want with some restrictions of course. Some students might argue that school uniforms decrease bullying rate dramatically. This is proven false by many studies. if there are no clothes to bully people over bullies will just find something else like your hair, money, or even less stupid things such as a lie they make up about you (“Pros and cons of school uniforms).…
Telling children how to dress is a violation of students rights. Students should be able to freely express themselves without having to answer to anyone. The first amendment of the bill of rights states , " congress cannot pass laws abridging the freedom of speech". Freedom is more than just words, it includes many different ways of expression, including clothing. What people wear is not just an expression of their fashion sense, it also is not just a statement of individuality.…
According to the article “The Variable Dresscode: Pros and Cons of School Uniforms” they state that “students are not exposed to diversity and often times experience culture shock when facing individuality in the real world”. We already have school security systems, locks on doors, school police that are there constantly. If we had to wear uniforms then it would feel like more of a jail. Uniforms make everyone the same and then it makes it look like there is no diversity in the school. If uniforms were required no one would be happy because no one wants to be the same as everyone else leading some students to not do good in school. The school wants us to do good in our classes but if everyone is dressed the same and have to follow all the same rules then kids will try more to be different or rebel in other ways. Kids are taught to be individuals and to express themselves freely but when they are told to dress the same and act the same way as everyone else is it takes away their rights express…
Throughout history people have showed their will to fight oppression and go against “The Man” to obtain their freedom, however, in modern times this can be shown by courageous students fighting ,so called, unfair school policies such as rule against what a person can wear in school. But has anyone thought behind the fact that it slightly limits the way we express ourselves and think that their is a legitimate purpose behind it? Schools must have dress codes because it teaches students the differences between what is appropriate work and social attire ,which will help us in our future.…
Today in the United States, almost every school now has a dress code. Many people support the idea of students being able to wear certain kinds of clothes that do not disrupt a learning environed, but others are against it because they say “it stops individuals from expressing themselves”, and they are right but so are the people that support the dress code.…
People’s personalities are all different, and vary from person to person. My personality is unique and has its own traits. First, I’m a curious person who always looks around and wonders how everything happens, or causes things to happen. I was at the beach one day when I was younger and just stared at the waves for about 15 minutes, wondering what is causing all of it. Second, I’m a positive person who always thinks that everything will be all right and that everything will always work out for the better. Being positive always makes me happier and fills my life with joy.…
With this in mind students have the right to wear what they want but only to a certain point. If what a student has on is offending in anyway, and majority of the people feel offended by what they have on, by our own rights they would have to change what they have on. As said in “Protecting Freedom of Expression on the Campus” a way to approach students with this is to “Seek to educate and persuade, rather than resort to ridicule or intimidation, recognizing that only persuasion is likely to produce a lasting, beneficial effect” (Derek Bok 71). If the schools faculty wants to make an effect on the students realizing what is right and wrong students need to be reprimanded not yelled at for it, or they will keep doing it.…
I do not think it is right to take away a student’s self expression and that they should be allowed to wear what they want to a certain extent. For example at my school we are required to wear a collared shirt and either khaki or black pants with a belt, this kind of dress code and other stricter one are the kinds I think should not be allowed because it gives little to no room for the student to personalize their outfit to their own liking.…
In the public schools and in the society the common issue in the schools is the dress attire. Should we enforce dress codes or uniforms in public schools? I know we have our freedom of expression but some people express themselves a little too much. The issue on dress is still an issue but people had ignored it because no change has been made. Obama also took part in this issue he had an issue about the men who sagged their pants he stated that most people show little respect for themselves due to the way they dress…. Would greet your mothers that way? So why do it when they’re not around? So men pull up your pants and ladies respect your image. Most people feel that dress codes hurts their freedom of self expression but it really doesn’t but…
Not very many schools around the United States make their students wear uniforms. According to the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics, during the 2013-14 school year only fifteen percent of schools required their students to wear uniforms. Some people believe that the use of uniforms will help decrease the amount of bullying and crime in schools. They also believe that by wearing uniforms, students will focus more on their school work instead of their clothes. On the other hand, I believe that the use of school uniforms limits a student's freedom to express themselves. Also, I believe school uniforms don’t help the amount of bullying, it could even make it worse if someone can’t afford a uniform. Lastly,…
