A wonderful voyage
When thinking about my best vacation, my mind goes back one year ago, when I spent Christmas in Timisoara. It was the first time when I have celebrated Christmas in another place but home. In fact, the only thing known there was my mother, the main reason of my “ruined fest”. You should’t understand me wrong, the whole experience was absolutely fantastic. Since then, I used to spend Christmas eve by decorating the Christmas tree, making cookies and other pies, listening to carols and eventually, being in bed at 10 watching the “Home alone” movies with my cat. So, I’ve been spent that eve in train with my mother eating yogurt and cereals.
Finally, at 2 o’clock we were there! Happy us. “Woow!” we said in the same time. We couldn’t believe our eyes. The whole city was like burning. There were everywhere only very small and shiny lights. Since that moment I started to feel like living in the “Home alone” movie, walking on the New York streets. The only difference was that I had an awesome company, my mom, my best living partner.
The next day, 25th of December, first day of Christmas, we woke up early. The breakfast was waiting for us and so the city. We didn’t need to much time to get ready. Mom’s conference would had to begin at 7 p.m. We had the whole day to explore the town. So there we are, walking on the Timisoara’s streets, making pictures with happy men dressed like Santa, eating gingerbread and listening to street carolers.
When thinking about Timisoara, I know that is one of the biggest cities from Romania but then, I felt like home, even if it is placed on the other side of the country. I felt like I knew each street, we could never get lost. I visited the entire city, from “The Fountain with fishes” to the Art Museum and so on.
At 7 we were tired. We didn’t realized since that moment how tiresome was our walk. We finally prepared and gone to mom’s meeting. The night finished also wonderful by receiving mom’s favorites psychological books and with the thought that I should never be afraid to try something new, and getting out from my “comfort zone ”.
The experience was awesome. I could never forget that Christmas. It will remain in my heart forever, as Timisoara, my soul city. And so, I promised that some day, I will live there and why not getting old there.

All can relate to that one special time of the year, Christmas, when whole families unite and spend hours endlessly sharing stories, making memories, and of course, opening presents! What happens though, when all of the sentimental value of Christmas is replaced solely with physical value, the gifts? What would Christmas be like then? Richard Rodriguez takes the readers through one of his annual Christmases and brings to light, through his thoughts, the disconnect that exists between himself, his siblings, and his parents. Rodriguez’ chronological presentation of events with flashbacks, short, abrupt syntax, light-hearted attention to detail and concerned tone contribute to suggest his worried attitude toward his family.…

“City sidewalks, busy sidewalks dressed in holiday style… In the air, there’s a feeling of Christmas…” My favorite holiday has always been Christmas. I love everything about it! One of the best things about Christmastime is that we get such a long time off from school. In addition to that, my family flies back home to Pennsylvania in December, so we always get to see snow. We also spend time with family and friends playing games and exchanging gifts, which is always a lot of fun. Of all the holidays, I think Christmas is the best! Towards the end of December, we all really need a break, and Christmas Break comes at just the right time, lasting just over two weeks! It’s so nice to have off from school at a time when there’s great holiday music on the radio and great sales in all the stores. Not to mention the fantastic foods filling my plate as I go to all the holiday get-togethers. I don’t like too many gatherings, though, sometimes I just like to rest. I try to spend most of my time on the long break relaxing and enjoying family. Speaking of family, I get to fly back home to Pennsylvania over Christmas Break to visit my relatives. It is always snowy in Pennsylvania in December, so that’s an exciting part our vacation for my sister and me. We go to my cousins’ house and ride four wheelers in the snow, pulling inner tubes behind them. Our parents usually get some great videos of us playing in the snow. Last year we stayed outside so long in a snowstorm, that our hair was caked with snow by the time we came in! It looked like we had white dreadlocks! It is always so fun having adventures with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents back home in Pennsylvania. In addition to all of our snowy adventures, we also spend lots of time indoors with family and friends playing games and exchanging gifts. My grandma buys tons of little gifts – mostly…

How Was Ha’s Life Turned Inside Out Ha, a ten year old girl and her family have to flee their home in Saigon in the novel Inside Out and Back Again by Thanhha Lai. Ha’s story is very similar to that of other refugees around the world. Refugees are defined as “people who are residing outside their countries and cannot return due to a well-founded fear of persecution because of their race, religion, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group”. Ha’s story is similar to other refugees because all refugees need to relocate and learn a new culture. Some refugees get teased at school, neighborhoods or even stores.…

2012. .This site gives me the biography of Thomas Cole. It gives me insight into why he choose to paint the paintings the way he did and his use of colors and other images. The article informed me that his ambition for the paintings was to create a "higher style of landscape" that could express moral or religious meanings. He studied abroad, in Europe to find muses for his paintings. Although he did travel to other countries, most of his paintings are inspired by Italy and Sicily. He studied abroad to become a better painter and to also learn how to develop a higher style of landscape.…

After one day when we saw, as much as we can, how the life in London is we go for the first three hours of the course attended there. For the teacher, named Dolores Ditner was an absolutely pleasure to open us his door of his house after we received her in Romania to teach us the first part of the course months ago. Hours spent with Dolores were wonderful, but some hours which we spent with her young daughter named Tessa was much more fantastic. We enjoy them a lot. How much we wish to repeat them. I remember how emotive were we when Tessa pleased us to present and say some things about us including family and life. Even if we expect not to do homework in that period of time, Dolores give us some easy work like informing from museums about different themes which we had discussed about after informing. The last day of courses was the most beautiful because we go to a special club as we can call it in this way where the activity of the club members was run in the family. After we present a story wrote by us which needed to contain a character invented the day before, we received our congratulations and of course our certificate of attending this course.…
