A Zero Becomes a Hero!
A ZERO BECOMES A HERO! Early this morning in Windrixville, Jay Mountain two Greasers named Johnny Cade and Ponyboy Curtis, showed great courage and bravery by saving young Socs that were trapped inside a burning church. The two boys asked the people around the church what was happening. Apparently the group of Socs around the area were having a school picnic and suddenly they saw the church on fire. A worried woman ran to the leader of the trip, Jerry, and told him that a couple of kids are gone missing. Hearing some faint screaming coming from the inside of the church, the two gallant young bots rushed in to rescue the children. “They deserve to live more than me; I hope they have a good life ahead of them. They shouldn’t turn out like me, a murderer.” Cade said.
Knowing they would suffer some serious burns, the two Greasers still continued saving the young Socs. When they hoarded all the kids, they were quickly sent to the hospital to get treated. The older one, Cade, suffered some serious burning and back injuries. Ponyboy, on the other hand, was saved by the thick jacket he wore.
Ponyboy said, “When I was rescuing the children, it was so hot I thought I was going to faint if I didn’t take my jacket off. Good thing I didn’t take it off, it saved my life.”
If it’s not for the heroic act these two young men made, many children would have lost their future. “We didn’t do it for fame or glory, we just did what was right.” said the

Even after all of her experiences in the concentration camps, she still had faith in God. She said, "God does not have problems — only plans." Without her faith in God, she wouldn’t have been able to be as resilient as she was during the Holocaust, and she wouldn’t have been able to minister to all of the people she did. All through history, society has reflected on what accurately defines a hero. More recently, individuals have considered Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone, and Anthony Sadler - three American friends who helped thwart what could have been a mass shooting on a packed high-speed train bound for Paris – as the chief example of a hero. They cared not for themselves, but for the individuals aboard the train, and although they have resisted the designation of a hero with vengeance and vigor, people around the world continue to think of these three men as heroes. It, in a way, makes individuals wonder, what can they do for other people, whether it’s giving their lunch to the woman down the street or giving up their seat on the bus for an elderly man? This all may…

In the novel, Ponyboy and Johnny do something very valiant that gets them in the newspaper. Since Pony and Johnny were in Windrixville trying to escape from the fuzz, they were hiding in a remote location. This place was an abandoned church on top of Jay Mountain. When they get back from breakfast, they saw that the church was on fire with 4 or 5 children in it. Then, the two of them jump out of Dally’s car and go into the fire to rescue the kids. In the process of that, they successfully save everyone but they each get burnt pretty badly.
