Starting off
Registration plate, condition of tyres, lights and windscreens should be checked daily before driving.
Weekly checks include radiator coolant levels, windscreen cleaning liquid, engine oil level, battery water levels, brake fluid levels, air pressure of tyres, including the spare tire.
Adjust seat, fasten seat-belt then adjust mirrors in the given order before moving off.
Adjust the headrest so that it forms a straight line with your ear and eye.
Only a person below 1.5 metres in height is exempted from the law to wear seat belt at all times while on the road; children below 8 years of age must use a child restraint.
Tyres with treads less than 1.6mm in depth should be replaced.

The average headlight on high-beam is about 100 metres, and should not be outdriven.
Headlights should be on from 7.00pm to 7.00am.

Reversing and Parking
Depress and release clutch pedal repeatedly with the accelerator pedal slightly depressed in order to carry out reversing at an extremely slow and safe speed.
Turn your body and head to look through the rear windscreen while reversing.
For perpendicular parking, check rear view mirror, signal intention, check left blind spot, position half a vehicle length ahead of parking lot and 1.5 metres away from the kerb; reverse till the left corner of the lot is visible in the rear windscreen, and turn steering wheel full lock to the left after checking for vehicle coming from the right; when about parallel to the kerb, return steering wheel to straight position.
