Specific Purpose: Persuade People to Listen Bob Marley
I. Step 1 – Attention: “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” –Bob Marley A. The man who sang these words is considered the King of Reggae, an ambassador of Peace and love, and he has become one of the most iconic singers the world has ever known!!! I think you all know whom I am speaking of, and if you don’t, I hope after today you’ll be on YouTube searching one of his famous songs. B. The point of today’s speech is to get you to start listening to the chill reggae beat that Bob Marley offers. From his hit titles “Redemption Song” and “Three Little Birds” to others like “Could you be loved” and “Jammin”. Bob Marley has implemented the reggae sound in every corner of the world; you would have to be from out of this galaxy for you not to hear his music. So don’t be an alien listen to some Bob Marley music!
It may be for your own good.
II. Step 2 – Need: Need heart, positive inspiration and soul! C. The problem with a lot of the hit music today is they talk about too much “bumpin and grindin”, killing and fighting, hating and cheating. Sometimes your soul and your heart crave some positive inspiration and healing. D. An article by Nancy K. Dess suggests that music does influence the mind and according to “psychologicalscience.org” the mind and body reciprocally influence each other. Since music is influencing the mind, and the mind is influencing the body to do something, wouldn’t it be nice to have your body at peace and stress free? Listening to Bob Marley music allows you to hear music that will leave your mind and body at ease!
